I have a hard time finding the Yao jerseys in Shanghai, I think most are bootlog. I think most things here are anyway. Go to Xiang Yang market and you'll find a whole bunch of goodies. They will swarm when you get there especially if you don't look Chinese. People here have little knowledge of personal space.

Haggling is a must and like people stated, start low. If its too low for them then walk away (they'll let you walk-if its doable they call you back), there's another vendor around the corner.

In process of building the new high rises. The people in the pics are likely migrant workers from the country side, similar to our work force from south of the border.

I definitely feel that the gap from the rich and poor are rising, most people that can live in the high rises aren't even Shanghainese, a lot of Japanee, Taiwan, Hongkong and Chinese Americans live in the buildings pictured.

Only shanghainese matter in shanghai. Mandarin just gets you ripped off slightly less than english. But people treat you better if you speak english.

Nah, they're all fake... and here is why:

1 - the space between the two Chinese characters (which says China obviously) is too wide...

2 - there should be no name displayed on the back of the jerseys at this point of time, until the Olympics...

3 - where is the ******* Nike swoosh on the right hand side of the front jersey?

4 - the yellow colour on these "authentic" jerseys are too light compared to the ones worn in tournaments...
