I agree on the bumping threads and it'snot my typical style, but the PTSD means mission accomplished lmao.

 

In retrospect a terrible move. Could have been a bit more better if our “all-in” package had not brought in the worst option possible.
Admittedly, I remember liking it at the time. If my memory serves me correct, we were starting to play pretty well right until Covid hit.

Except he's not. Harden has more accolades as Rockets and played here longer. End of discussion.

I don't need retrospect. I love when this thread gets bumped because you can go back and look for my posts and find that I HATED this trade and knew it was going to haunt us for years to come.

 

That's not what happened according to insiders.

The plan was too try to add WB to Harden AND CP3.

Morey said it wouldn't work, and Harden was okay with that, then Tilman, the biggest idiot in the room, forced it through, effectively ending Morey and teams tenure here.

Not in retrospect.

It was immediately one of the worst moves in NBA history.

Hard to fathom we STILL have three pick obligations from a trade that happened THREE AND A HALF YEARS AGO.

It was an absolute ****ing disaster, and its very possible that will be on full display next offseason if we only make moderate steps forward.

Best trade we could have ever made. We’d topped out and were in over our heads with contracts for declining players.

this trade helped grease the path for hardens exit and the current crop of talent.

I find team building way more interesting than following a declining product and hoping it strikes gold when its best years have passed without being able to do so.

On pg. 34 I responded to someone saying the Rockets would be unstoppable with Westbrook. Spoiler. They were stopped. I honestly don't think I could have been any more dead on in my assessment of Westbrook and how he would fit on our team.
