Man thrown from car, killed in collision with Metro bus By PEGGY O'HARE Copyright 2004 Houston Chronicle A 57-year-old man was killed when he was thrown from a car that ran a stop sign and collided with a Metro bus in southwest Houston early today, police said. The man, a passenger in the car, was not wearing a seat belt when the crash happened at Wilcrest and Langdon Lane around 4:30 a.m., officers said. The Harris County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet released his name. The Metro bus, driven by a 46-year-old Houston woman, was not carrying any passengers as it was southbound on Wilcrest, police said. The bus then crashed into the victim's car, a 1994 Nissan Maxima eastbound on Langdon Lane and failed to halt for a stop sign, reports show. The passenger died later at Ben Taub Hospital, where his driver, a 22-year-old man, is recovering. The bus driver was taken to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital, police said. Charges are pending against the 22-year-old man driving the car, police said.

The king of ignore. Your tactics are so stale and predictable that you have become a caricature of your former self. You used to make good points, peppered with jabs and somewhat clever pics, now every post seems to be a shadow of the old choo_choo. Even guys that used to agree with you are making it known that they don't want to be counted in your ever shrinking faction. You used to sneak out of a thread quietly when someone nailed you to a wall. Now you declare victory and talk about how you owned the room. It is often said the weakest argument is the one that is yelled the loudest. With the last few threads you have sunk to new lows. You are now the screaming, blind, evangelist on the street corner of this bbs. Panhandling for attention. Foaming about the liberal horde. Weak, feeble. Pathetic. No sir. I'm glad somebody started this thread. The steel horse and its concrete killing fields have wrought havoc, terror and destruction on Houstonians for far too long, thousands upon thousands of innocent houstonians have been murdered by the so-called "convenience" of the automobile. Houston, go back to your roots: Embrace the Buggy.
