ah if only we didnt learn this already about a month or 2 ago!! then silas(as me and @Ankara1923 have predicted) went away from it so everybody forgot about it ( as we also have predicted) @Ankara1923 @LeDakota @aaquaa @DreamShook @PeterKingX @AroundTheWorld @J.R. @tinman @harold bingo @ExTxGS @conquistador#11 @CHAMPBOY @mirdirir @Joe Rocket @WestendMassive @Salvy @clutchdabear @berkowsk @j@amc @Killatron 2000 @Dovahkiin @ExTxGS @cmoak1982 @bmelo
That 2 foot floater was zesty with the pinky finga up. Also, Alpi destroys every white center that guards him.
the next one is Asian or Latino… let me check who could be on the menu. Maybe some other team will sign Zhou Qi just to guard Sengun.
Having two guards capable of running the pick and roll effectively with a big man who is a willing passer like Sengun is the foundation of a great offense. KPJ absolutely can fit if he drastically reduces his ineffective iso dribbling.
Agree 100% I've actually been pretty down on KPJ this season, after coming in thinking "wow his attitude seems to have improved, and I'm really rooting for this kid to fully turn his situation around and be a big success for the Rockets." It didn't seem to translate to the court, and the bonehead moves kept coming. But last night that offense looked really nice when we maintained the style. I really hope he can fully buy into that and that's the way we play going forward. It was like night & day tbh, really fun to watch.
This is coming from a member who named himself after a player who the franchise undoubtedly Tanked the year before to improve their odds of drafting.
Last live game pretty recently I saw at Toyota center I noticed Sengun was working with plyometric and fast twitch muscle drills with the coaches pregame. He's working on improving his athletic explosiveness, speed, and burst. If he can maximize his athleticism, and get leaner and stronger with diet and workouts he'll start reaching his potential with his skill-based game. He's definitely improving and if he can hit a three consistently at a good percentage and become a good rim protector/help defender Sengun can definitely be an all-star in this league one day. He should study both Joker (as I'm sure he does now which is great) and also film of prime Marc Gasol for defense.
alpi will become allstar if he simply gets a higher usage or more playing time and none of the things you listed is necessary.... alpi can already statpad with the best of them if given playing time and the ball and why this fascination with becoming an allstar?? imho its selling alpi short...victor freaking olabricko and john wall( couldnt shoot 3s reliably) become allstars in this league and they didnt even know how to throw a decent lob pass to the easiest lob target in the league...for gods sake even benn simmons was a multiple allstar...
Keep in mind that the Bulls are also a pretty poor defensive team. I want to see this against actually quality defensive teams. Shots don't need to fall, but the PnR ball movement needs to be there, not that poor man's Harden ISO crap.
Yeah I agree, right there with you on that. In fact it makes the iso ball look even worse than it did before in my eyes if they revert. We've had a glimpse of a much better path, if they don't follow it it'll be pretty damning for me.
Everyone except Silas knew since last season that PnR with Sengun as the hub is the best course of action. It's not like we haven't had a glimpse of this play style before. The fact that it works great is not a new discovery. The problem is that KPJ (and to a lesser extent Green) keep going away from it and settling for crappy ISO plays that he does not have the decision making abilities for.
I'ma have to disagree a little there, I think we've done the odd bits here and there but not played totally with that same energy we saw last night and certainly not with that cohesiveness. KPJ and Sengun 2 man game might even be the best indicator of that, it's like all of a sudden they got chemistry with each other. All round though, when it was firing on all cylinders I don't believe we've truly seen play in the same level as last night's offense. "P&R with Sengun" massively oversimplifies what was being played last night when we were cooking. It was ball movement with the whole squad, cuts, multiple screens from different players, players and ball moving decisively with pace. If it was as simple as "P&R with Sengun" we'd have a lot better record because we've run that loads this season, it's beyond that. It's everybody buying in, keeping the ball moving, setting screens, looking for the extra pass instead of one or 2 then forcing the issue.
