I almost started it last night. Instead, I chose to watch a shitty Liam Neeson movie that I knew would be shitty, and I don't regret that choice. It's called Memory and he plays a very old hitman who turns good because of a kid and he also is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. It's dumb and bad, but it's probably better than Black Adam.
saw it. i think there is about 10 mins left of movie. they just put rock in that water chamber. taking a short break to chew on it a bit before moving on. i mean… what can i say? such masterpiece. the complex plot with parallel intertwined stories, the sophistication of dialogue, deep dive into character development, awe-inspiring world building, oscar worthy cast, and many more. 9000+/10 this spits and laughs at marvel @Xerobull
Black Adam, the real superhero movie the streets needed didn’t watch and never will, but sounds like it’s a riveting masterpiece…a true work of art
Alright I actually watched it last night while wrapping presents. It's ****ing stupid. It's a stupid movie. In parts it is Bayformers-esque. Black Adam is almost like Drax but without the humor of Drax or the acting ability of Bautista. It's no wonder they're pulling the plug on this. It was a stupid, boring movie. Every scene has some stupid part in it that makes you ask, "why???" Little stuff like Adam VERY, VERY slowly floating down a stairwell while twirling for about a minute, so he has to keep turning his head around to see the kid he's talking to. And the visual effects were hit or miss; some were good, many were not. I'm still amazed that major studios spend **** tons of money on massive projects like this that are so bad. You would think that someone, at some point, would have tried to stop the stupidity.
Was checking Rotten Tomatoes; audience scores still in the 80%, critics at 34%. Some of the critics used scales like grade C or 2 out of 5's, which didn't seem like a strong dislike but still counts as rotten. Side note: Black Adams in the comics isn't flamboyant or have a jokey personality. And Drax wasn't jokey joke (dumb jock) until Gunn made the character that way in the movies. Rock not doing the widower peak and pointy ears, cost some points; seemed he was too cool for school. Rock more or less ended playing himself instead of acting out the Black Adams character.
The best part of the movie is Dr. Fate. Pierce Brosnan was the best part of the movie, and it was the best Fate costume in any adaption. Yes, I know he takes off his helmet in the movie, and yes I know he's incredibly nerfed, but its OK. A Brosnan led Fate movie would have been better.
I really really really liked Shazam. I thought Levi and Strong were excellent choices for the roles they played and the kids did well supporting. It was a feel good movie but still had good action and adult themes that were relatable. Black Adam was ok. But the cheese factor was so far through the roof that it almost seemed like it was making a joke of itself. I enjoyed it from the perspective that it was part of the Shazam storyline, but it felt like it was a major miss on trying to show an anti-Shazam. The Rock is a pretty good guy who is likable...but he shouldn't be allowed to make any more movies on his own.
GOOD. Yall people bothering to START a movie like this SHOULD be punished for it. I watched a bad movie and it was BAD! Nice move, fam.
My sister watched this movie on her flight to ATL. She called me the moment she landed to tell me she hated the movie. I thought this movie was okay, (I didn't finish it), but not so bad some one should call me from the tarmac. lol she's a casual superhero fan by the way.
Yall's awesome reviews actually make me want to watch this for the sh!ts and giggles...in the background while doing something else
no. you need to be all in when witnessing this theatrical genius. they could put a 15 minute commercial break in the middle of the movie and people would still have their eyes glued. it’s that great.
this movie needed a bit of kevin hart. he could have been blek fate. would've catapulted to academy awards consideration.
