I just really doubt that Silas doesn't know how to beat a zone. Either he has failed to teach his players how or they're just not able to do so
That was my point. "Piss-poor COACHING" I'm not saying he doesn't know how to beat a zone. He obviously doesn't know how to coach how to beat a zone. It isn't as if they were trying to beat it correctly and failing. They weren't even trying correctly.
Yeah, they seem very unprepared every time a zone is thrown at them-which happens every game now. The players seem to struggle to know where they need to be on the court and are hesitant to shoot it - like they aren’t even sure what a good shot looks like in a zone. It’s bizarre.
@Reeko I watched this game , we didn’t intentional try to lose. There was just horrible turnovers and street ball execution at the end
My interest is at an all time low. Its hard to watch the Rockets get their brains beat in game after game.
Trust me - I know. Was sitting a few rows back from where he spiked that one to. I gotta give Jalen a pass on that one though- bad pass late into the shot clock where everyone knew he had to put it up. Bol already knew what was coming
It's funny that some people think the team on the court is trying to lose. No. They are just that bad, from the coach on down
What part of the "total ground-up rebuild" memo did you guys miss? It's painful because it's supposed to be at this early point. If you're still whining and crying 2 or 3 years from now, I'll join you. Until then, absorb the pain and embarrassment in the hope that this current horror show pays off at some point in the future.
This, as much as this sucks, it’s probably for the best and if we get Wemby or Scoot it will be well worth it. At that point fire Silas and get a competent coach and maybe add another good young player in free agency
To beat a zone, you have to knock down some shots to get them to extend the defense so you can attack the middle of it ..... this Rockets team is the worst shooting team in the league - that's why they can't beat a zone. Has nothing to do with not knowing how, just flat out incapable.
