I don't think those things are separate. I think that when teams are tanking they field young rosters and inexperienced head coaches, which results in us being this bad and very young.
Pro tank or anti-tank —- this is the purgatory of ineptitude we are stuck with. Hopefully there is a lottery ball at the end of the tunnel with the number 1 on it.
These fools ain't tanking... They're just organically bad at professional team basketball... Which is far more pathetic but somehow acceptable to me.. lol
Considering that its not a strategy you can announce or talk about if your an NBA exec without being fined, I would say yes, we are tanking. Is everything going according to plan? 1) The Tanking (losing) part is. 2) But player/team development was suppose to continue. While I see some player development on an individual basis, team development and learning to play together is lagging.
Intentionally tanking or gross incompetence? It's hard to differentiate coach silas thought process when he fking smiling all the time.
What you're looking at is tanking. Players don't tank, coaches don't tank, so to tank you put together a group of guys and coach that can't win even when they try their best. That's what this is.
Silas isn't trying to tank, but we are tanking by having Silas as our coach and by featuring KPJ and Nix. I sure hope the front office is actually tanking, because if they are not, they are hopeless morons to let things happen the way they have been happening.
The players are trying to win but they are garbage Silas is trying to win but he is garbage Stone is an incompetent dumbass hiding behind the guise that we are tanking Poorman is a loser and enjoys having a cheap bottomfeeder that still manages to sell tickets and t shirts. He is probably having the time of his life knowing he will never have to worry about paying for a contending roster again
I honestly don't know and don't care except for the results. Nobody here has a clue if we are or aren't or if we're really incompetent or not. They're just "another dude/dudette with a somewhat uninformed opinion". Next year, I need to see improvement. This year I need to see a good lottery pick - preferrably top-2 or 3. That's not too much to ask, is it?
KPJ is tunnel visioned and over-dribbles because we are tanking. Green is inconsistent and randomly loses assertiveness because we are tanking. Jabari misses open jumpers because we are tanking. KMJ who wants a bigger role is limited offensively because we are tanking. Segun commits unnecessary fouls because we are tanking. Nix is fat because we are tanking etc … This is the worst Rockets team since the early 2000s Franchise teams.
If you do the team part of 2 too well, you can't accomplish 1. I'm about ready to flip the switch to win now. I think we have some pieces to play with. One more won't hurt though
One thing I know, regardless of if you think we should tank or not, we need a strategy. since I don’t think coaches coach to lose, I’m inclined to believe that we have been trying to win, but are just not good. I’m also inclined to believe that Stone never cared much about wins this year, and has the blessing of Tillman to tank one last year. So Stone didn’t care, for example, about about having a balanced roster.
This is my belief as well. Tillman gave the greenlight to tank/rebuild/bottom out while we still had our picks.
