I think he deserves a fond farewell, so it's time to caption this photo (disregard Garner if you want):

    "Basketball?"

    "There goes my career."

That's all I got. Call me an ******* for starting this pointless thread; I don't mind. :D

If you look closely into Garner's poker face, you can see the hand he was dealt.

well, on one hand, I agree a change had to be made...on the other, to say Phil Garner is the answer and is more knowledgable than Jimy is just wrong...

    goodbye jimy...

"Baseball in the Wind" by Elton John

    Goodbye Jimy Williams
Though I never knew playoff ball
You had the grace to hold yourself
    While those around you lost
They crawled out of the dugout
And they whimpered onto the field
They met you on the pitcher's hill
And they made you wince in pain

And it seems to me you managed the Stros
Like a baseball in the wind
Never knowing who to fling it to
When the rains of hits set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a fan
Your baseball flew out long before
    Your offense ever hit

    Offensive hitting sucked
The goal of a timely hit unfulfilled
    Baseball created us a deficit
And pain was the price you paid
    When you were fired
Oh the press still hounded you
All the papers had to say
Was that Jimy was found in Baroon

    Goodbye Jimy Williams
From the young fan in the 22nd row
Who sees you as something as more than pond scum
More than just an Average Joe

    :D

man, i'm glad we have phil garner in there, now. he's making all the difference in the world. new lineups...less bunting in the 2 hole...everyone just seems to play better when he's around.

    JIMY WAS CLEARLY THE PROBLEM!!

MadMax, I've been trying to figure out for an hour now whether your post is being sarcastic or not...

they are 1-3 since the change, and we are plagued by the same problems. There were people screaming for Jimy Williams to be fired, they got their wish and the results are the same. I don't think it was sarcastic.
