Don't make stuffing. Don't ruin your Turkey!

    wow
All I was reading was how the bread stuffing was amazing and some people prefer to eat it than the turkey so I thought it would be a great thing to eat.
    You give me second thoughts.

Normally I make stuffed baby lamb with rice anise and rosemary. My familys traditional recipe for new year.
Maybe I will stick to the traditional lol.

That sounds delicious. I really don't like traditional american holiday food. Turkey is okay, but I hate ham. Stuffing is good if done right, but 9 out of 10 do it wrong. My wife and I make a lot of crap during the holidays that I don't bother eating because other people like it. I do like prime rib though which is pretty common during Christmas.

BUMP, and Merry Christmas to All

It's that time of year again, and for once I have no real ideas.

We've done a massive homemade Mexican/TexMex family feast in the past, but now after my grandmother passed we've all split into various different Christmases. Which sucks, and makes me muy triste.

Turkey is out. I did green chili turkey enchiladas and turkey/andouille/shrimp/okra gumbo with my entire leftover smoked turkey from Thanksgiving...so none more turkey.

We've done beef and seafood and sides the past 3 years, for about 6 people, so that's always my fallback, or I could sub a rack of lamb.

What's the bbs doing? I wouldn't mind something totally different for a change.

I’ve done a “Christmas Paella” several times before, decorated with the common green peas and pimento, giving it a Christmas fleer. Always goes good with other things too. But full on Spanish is possible with tapas and Serrano ham and cheese plate.

Nothing too exciting. Usually either cook a beef tenderloin if extended family is coming over or just filets if it is the 4 of us along with some sides the wife prepares. Thinking about mixing it up this year so happy to hear what others are planning.

I'm going to my mom's on Friday and was going to smoke a turkey, but since it's going to be below freezing, I'm opting to not do that. Sorry momma.

We're doing prime rib for 6. Will have an extra portion.

    Salmon rillettes for the appetizer.

mushroom (beef broth and wine) gravy
    mashed potatoes
    green beans
    broccoli/cauliflower gratin
    "angel biscuits"
    tiramisu

So, basically, doing the same stuff as the last couple of years. Excited but boring.
