Waiting for more details to emerge about what he was into online in recent years which transformed him into the sort of person who would attack an 80 year old with a deadly weapon. This has been an issue in the USA since the founding of the country. It isn't anything novel, it isn't anything that is worse now than in the past. It is literally part of America.

The USA was full of illegal Germans...... illegal Italians...... illegal Irish....... Catholics........ Chinese....... Mexicans and now South Americans..... and we still have large pockets of illegal Poles and Irish and Russians in the USA.

When I lived in Chicago you couldn't find an installer that worked for Comcast that wasn't Russian or Polish. In fact there are several areas where English isn't spoken. Stores like AT&T and Verizon had stores where only Russian or Polish was spoken. People didn't leave their communities.

Yes. It is very common for people in Chicago that are legal immigrants to have their cousins and friends get on a plane with a limited visa, and then when their visa expires, to live the rest of their lives in Chicago and Wisconsin as illegal aliens.

The role of immigration in the USA has ALWAYS been messy, and it still is.... and those intimately involved with the issue know this and it is why there is no real efforts to end it. There are efforts to control it perhaps at times, but that is as far as it goes. It is like a wildfire that has existed in the USA for 150 years and when it gets out of control, we go in and reign it in but don't put it out.

The idea that illegals are being groomed or are taking resources from others is a very short sighted view. It is the same thing they said about Jews and Italians 100 years ago, that they are all anarchists and socialists.

 

Yep. My step-mother is from Poland. She came here legally, but lived in a Polish community, in Chicago, with a cousin. There were tons of illegals
