Hmm... Okay I am going to go with inflation slowing and wide-spread job loss.... then DeSantis as President being a disaster.
The worst possible upcoming disaster: Spoiler Rockets don't get the #1 overall pick in the 2023 Draft
there will come a time where there’s another pandemic, but this time with a virus much worse than Covid, and since people don’t trust science/doctors/vaccines, the casualties will be on Spanish flu levels
No doubt. Every pandemic we've had in the last 200 years has come from disease crossing over from eating new and interesting species of animals, and with population growth and people encroaching on previously remote locations and/or just being hungry, it will happen again. But what year? 2024? Here's one that won't happen: Luka Mavericks win championship.
2044…but I just pulled that year out my ass pandemic with a virus much worse than Covid, enormous California earthquake, or storm with flooding the likes we haven’t seen…that’s my top 3 Luka in Dallas is looking like Harden in Houston
Mavs really fumbled with Jalen Brunson Brunson apparently wanted to sign a four-year, $56 million contract extension (the same one Dorian Finney-Smith signed in February) with the Mavs, not only before last season started, but again in January. But the Mavs didn’t offer him the extension until after the trade deadline, which sent a signal that Brunson might have been being used as trade bait. At that point, it was pretty much the beginning of the end, although Brunson remained professional about it throughout the remainder of the season could’ve had their 2nd best player locked up for a measly 56 mil…ouch now they’ve got Christian Wood I love to see it
2023 - Elon suspends more reporter's Twitter accounts, erroneously included Shams. Shams couldn't appeal and his original account is perm banned. Shams couldn't do anything other than go back to his back up burner account at HoopCentral
Not sure why Mark Cuban always chooses to play hard ball at the wrong time. Same issue happened with that Mavericks championship team that went to the finals and didn't want to pay Tyson Chandler afterwards. Yet, historically, he's always been willing to pay a **** load of money to players and exceed the cap.
People don't even realize how bad Covid actually was/is because they get it and recover. The number of people dead since Covid is wildt as it is.
Just my gut. Because of COVID world-wide shut-downs, there is a lot of volatility in the world and economic markets. We had to address inflation but there will also be severe consequences in the short term for that as well, which will likely be a recession. We also have worker discontent in places like USA, EU and China and political instability is emerging markets like India and parts of the ME. All of this makes the chances of something severe happening increase AND the reaction to it being more severe. We also are seeing an increase in climate change and a lot of the institutions in places like USA, EU and China are vulerable. The reaction to economic and social disruptions in the USA, China and EU will be more volatile than in the past and the impact will be felt in other first world countries. So with the need to control inflation, we have seen mortgage rates explode, and we also are seeing a situation where there will be contraction and employers are going to let go a lot of these people that have received raises the last few years. So I can see a recession, people not handling it well after having to deal with COVID restrictions and fears, and then out of control inflation for a few years.... the response from leaders will likely involve some efforts to prevent people from straying from the laws and institutions that have to be respected for society to function in a healthy matter. We already have large swatches of USA, China and EU that do not have confidence in or respect for the institutions and that is going to eventually result in efforts to "control" the population. A leader that is very grounded and can work well with the rest of the world is likely better to handle this situation - but that isn't who people want when times are tough or unstable. The people want someone that will place blame on others and promise to fix the problem. I don't see a return to real normality for awhile, and even then, it will not be the normality that we are used to.
Luka isn't better than Harden - at least this version isn't better than prime Harden - but it is possible that this isn't prime Luka yet. Harden was a vastly more efficient player and scorer, and he was a better defender.
