Don't worry so much man, Sengun is on the path to making himself close to impossible to trade. I know it's maybe slower or not in the exact way we all want it to happen, but trust me by the end of this season he's going to be recognized as a special player.

The only thing standing in his way right now is he has to urgently develop better defense or a better 3pt shot. It's not his coach or teammates or system in his way. If he does one of those two things, his place on this team and in the league is set. I think he (and we) will be just fine, just needs some patience.

I've been seeing some defensive improvement from him recently and I think that's the only thing he can develop seriously in-season. Strength and 3pt shot will need an offseason, but for the time being any improvement to his defense and asst/to ratio is a step in the right direction. He's so young there's plenty of time.

Why do refs hate Sengun so much?

^If @Mathloom were GM of the Rockets we'd trade the rights to Victor Wembanyama for a future first and a couple of seconds because of all these surefire HOF youngsters we have

I was watching a Cavs vs Lakers game a week ago or more but I actually felt sad for Mobley. The Guards were chucking away and homeboy ended up with like 6 FGAs for 7 points.

I’m worried about Sengun we plays passive against length and physicality

He’s playing passive because of an inconsistent whistle. He’s not allowed to be as physical as they are with him. He’s thinking about fouls and limited playing time, that’s obvious.

He was 6/10. He needs the ball first to operate. I posted the number of post ups he was getting 2 weeks ago, 4.4 a game. It has gone down to less than 2.

Post-ups are especially good in match-ups where he is going to struggle with fouling. You put the same pressure on the other end and they can get into foul trouble too.

And contrary to some garm beliefs, it doesn't slow down the offense. I need 9 post ups for Sengun and 5 for Jabari who can hit that little fade shot in the post any time he wants now.

of course not. In fact the only type of ball movement we can do is when we pass out of a double team from the post up. Because you don’t need structure or screens to move the ball then.

One of the reasons is because he is young and complains 99% of the non calls, which the refs miss a lot but the refs despise being challenged on the way they call the games, especially by the super young players

I think he had his worst defensive game tonight in last 2 weeks or so, allowed few offensive rebounds and missed a couple of easy buckets in the offensive end. Overall it wasn't a good game for him.

But the way he's utilized is just disgusting. Just don't play the man if you are not going to let him touch the ball. He's just a liability on the court (at least for now) if you are not gonna give him the ball. Dude didn't touch the ball for 3 minutes straight with the lineup of TyTy-EG-Garry Bird-Tari-Sengun on the court.

One more thing, stop subbing him in and out 17 times per game like he's a b*tch.

I totally agree. Once or twice per game is alright but he complains way too much. I swear if he stops complaining he'd never be in foul trouble since he gets 3 ridiculous foul calls per night simply because of his complaints imo.

Yeah because even the refs dislike when the established star vets over complain but at least they have earned their stripes

Sengun will learn to tone it down hopefully and in a couple seasons he will be getting most of those calls down the line

Ah if only he had a coach, someone authoritative and firm yet well meaning, that could give him a simple yet useful advice and hold him accountable to that...
