Was working on a Laptop compaq Armada 7730MT [OLD COMPUTEr] Was formatting it to put on an operating system It worked unfortunately the power blinked before i could fdisk it Getting a Non Systen Disk Error It is not recognizing the Floppy or the CD Drive and the Harddrive is unFdisked I cannot even get to the BIOS Setup cannot find the BIOS battery to reset it I read that Compaq uses a DIAGNOSTIC PARTITION but i cannot get to that either ANYONE CAN HELP Rocket River
Pull out the harddisk drive & format it on another system. I worked on a number of Dell slimline Latitudes, usually the easist way is to pull out the HDD to ghost them.
IIRC, here's what you have to do... First of all, here's drivers and software for your notebook: http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/Armada/us/locate/20_910.html On a separate machine you will need to download the "System ROMPaq", which should make bootable floppy(s) which you will use to format and create the "diagnostic partition" (the $hitheads at compaq put all their bios stuff on a drive partition a long time ago. One of the many reasons their stuff sux) After you've done that, try proceeding further, and if you have further problems, post 'em here. -- droxford
