I still don't understand why they wanted to sign him for so many years and now give him away after 1 year. I think it will take more than what is being bounced around on here if it's even true. Not that I'm saying Nook as lying. Reports from Colorado sat they are excited to have him back next season and he is ready to go. If he is added to the lineup that is an actual power bat.
Yeah, maybe the Rockies know they aren't gonna win anything in the NL or NL west for a while, so they wanna dump his contract.
They weren’t going to win anything in the NL west when they signed him. I think it was just a move to make $. If there is some internal stuff going on maybe they want to get rid of him.
I have my doubts. Sure, the contract doesn't look great, but it's not like it's an albatross preventing the Rockies from competing, as that would imply they're actually trying to compete. More importantly, the Aranado fiasco really damaged the trust between ownership and the fanbase, pulling a second move like that in the span of 12 months is not only comical, but can do marlins-tier damage between the city and the team.
The Rockies wanted to move Bryant after the season. I would assume they still do, but I don’t know that for sure. The Rockies management and ownership has had problems before.
And I think we should sign Rodon and have him as our long relief. I think you're really onto something here.
Nothing has changed between now and then, other than spending has gone crazy. So far, nobody has bailed them out.
Talk about a player the likes we have never seen in terms of career arc. ROY, then MVP. And now his career is dying a slow death.
