LOL, Gallo is the exact type of player that will disappear in the playoffs, strike out 60% of the time but management is insistent that he can do better and won't take him off the roster. This leads to the Astros not winning a key series and a kid (who would've been at the World Series) camping instead- setting a campfire and starting a blaze that spreads for miles. Finally, Jon Heyman reported that the front office is supposedly split between Contreras and Maldanado. So Maybe Rome is correct, maybe he isn't. If he strikes out 70% of the time draws 3 walks and hits a HR in a series at the 8 spot it’s probably a win compared to most teams 8 hitters. Probably. I’d love a better option. I don’t see a lot left anymore that are for sure better than that. I’m ok with watching the world burn.

Paying him 20 million or so a year will be a big discount over the next few years compared to what these players at his level are getting paid now. IF he can play center, it completely changes everything. like you said, as he ages and guys leave, you can spin him down to 3rd or 1st.
