Because everyone knows how totally wholesome Hollywood these days is. Certainly, there is no cheating going on there, not at all, whether in the clubhouse, in the stands, or in the parking lot.

They also had no problem signing Trevor Bauer which blew up in their faces.

I'm sure only appearing in half the games once he was an Astro had absolutely nothing to do with his performance...

It’s too late for that. We either settle for mediocrity, take severe risks with guys coming off injuries, or we splurge for good players through trades.

They also didn’t have an issue handing 360+ mil to known “cheater” Mookie Betts of the 2018 Red Sox! I think LAD is just trying to get out in front of Correa knowing he may very well sign w/ the Giants

Fine with any combination of those 3. All 3 are lefties and professional hitters. None of them cost you a draft pick.

Probably lean a bit towards Conforto because he’s got more power and a stronger arm, but it’s not overwhelming.

We just need a guy that knows what they are doing in the field and at the plate, so we can buy time for the young guys that don’t know what they’re doing.

I'm pretty content with the roster as is. Good shot to run it back with the squad we have now. Glad we don't play in the NL. Teams are spending like crazy and the pool of contenders seems wayyy deeper then the AL.

The glaring need is depth at catcher. As @Nook has argued previously, the key is hitters that can hit both left-handed and right handed pitching. A left-handed hitter is not critical.

    15-5 3.04 ERA in the DS/LCS.

Certainly we can do better than that.

    I mean, really.

So glad we got rid of that schmuck.

Who are the best 2-way hitters left?

You would have said the same thing at shortstop a year ago.

Korey Lee is an offensive catcher. Last year was the first time he didn't hit .260 or better. His OPS has increased every year in the minors.

There is upside. There is also downside. He's a guy who Ks a bunch and didn't hit for average. Sounds like a catcher we have now... difference is one is 23 and should get better.

I have no problem giving Lee another year in AAA where he'll be the same age as Willson Contreras when he got to AAA. I prefer not to block him with a big contract on an older catcher.

Give me a .240 hitting catcher who is good defensively and I'm fine for now if it's not a lot of money and less than 3 years..

You're really going to cite career numbers to defend the player he currently is?

I saw him make an ALCS saving shoestring catch this one time.

Oh no let me cite fake numbers instead.

You might be the dumbest poster on this board.

If Crane adds 2 bats, I'm happy going with Maldy/Lee at catcher.

If a trade for a catcher is made give me Jansen> Murphy due to cost of trade.

Sign Alfaro if Vazquez isn't brought back.

SMH.... you do understand that age causes players to wear down more quickly right? The fact that Verlander could make it through a season and still have something left for the playoffs once upon a time is irrelevant now.

What we've seen from him recently is that by the time the playoffs roll around, the tank is empty and that's why he was arguably the worst pitcher on the staff for the Astros in the playoffs this year. It's unlikely to get better going forward.... and talking about how he was good in 2017 or earlier til the world series is irrelevant.

Honestly I can't believe I had to spell that out for you.

I’m actually completely on board with this.
