Sorry for the new thread, but I am not sure if this has been discussed yet.

Has anyone thought about the possibility that we might try to send MoT to one of the teams with cap space for another TE for the following year?

This seems to make even more sense to me if we pull off a deal with Seattle for Daniels and a Big. Our Team salary would balloon to $56 million. If Atlanta gets shut out of the K-mart sweepstakes they will be looking for a "comparatively/reasonably" priced 4. We could send them Mo for a TE, lower our cap number and still have the MLE for other filler for our roster.

This would place the Rockets in much better position next year while still continuing to improve the team this year.

    Thoughts????

We've had 2 trade exceptions in the past several years, and so far we have failed to use both of them. I'm getting tired of giving up value for these things when we haven't used one effectively yet.

Even if the Rockets don't use it it's used effectively since it takes money off the cap.

The Hawks had a healthy payroll and little to show for it in the Win Column.

They went through a major salary purge and seem to be doing what the Nuggets did a few years. Assemble a young & hungry team while mixing in a few vets that fit in.

Mo isn't young & hungry and I doubt he is a vet that would be a role model for the young players the Hawks have added in the recent draft.

Unless a significant reason (read: draft choice) is given to grab Atlanta's interest, they will likely pass on the chance to acquire Mo.

If there was a team willing to take on Mot's contract, a deal would have been struck on expansion draft day.

Mo ain't goin nowhere, cept maybe during his last year.
