When Alpi is on court he touches the ball almost every possession - now it may not be on the block everytime, but until he develops a jumper …when he gets ball behind 3pt line teams are instantly sagging off him.

The problem is - KPJ and EG are shoot first vs create for others … 9x out of 10 EG is shooting if he touches the ball or turning it over.

@hakeem94 won't agree with me but sengun needed his 3 pt shot yesterday . It was sad to see him passing open 3 pters that he should take even they won't go in.

    Needs to fix his shot.

He has good touch but his form is bad and he has little to no balance while shooting. He always kicks his leg out

    sad? sad?! broOOOo.....LOLOLOLOL

    I APPLAUD SENGUN!!

    I GIVE HIM STANDING OVATION!!!

THAT HE'S HIS OWN MAN IN THIS DAY OF AGE OF 3PT GOLDEN CALF CULT...

AND HES MY HERO FOR THAT if nothing else...

    whats really sad bro is
Sengun still didnt play 10(TEN) FULL NBA GAMES(30+ MINUTES) ???!!!

    (WHAT!!!%$^#)

its an nba scandal of epic proportions that your best and most talented player is constantly denied of valuable PT and growing minutes fgor learning experience...

you cant learn to play piano and play basketball by reading a book about that...you gotta play bro

now when sengun is getting 35+ minutes of PT on regular and taking 20 shots a night then it will be ok for him to take say 5-6 of them 3 pointers...thats when they are useful and wont harm his rhythm as is known and bound to happen when you PT is 20 minutes and you get to fire only 5-8 shots a game....

anyone who knows a zilch of basketball, or of any skills learning indeed, knows that the flow and rhythm are sacred..and you cant be checking your email messages while you learning to ride the bike without arms...even tho its possible to do it once you are fluent in riding using your legs opnly...

    AGAIN
Sengun still didnt play 10(TEN) FULL NBA GAMES.....LET THAT SINK IN.. AND NO 3PTERS WILL HELP WITH THAT

    I.D.I.O.T.

LOL ALMOST ANYONE IN NBA WOULD PROFIT FROM A BETTER 3PT SHOT...

its least of his worries when hes getting 20 shots a game he can easily devote 5 attempts to cement that 3pt shooting

yanis won championship and 2 mvps without it

butler went twice in the finals and near finals and hes not good at it

cp3 went to finals and beat lebron and ad without even shooting 3 pointers playing injured on 1 hand

yall spreading alpi thin asking of 20 yr old to be elite in literally everyything...

While having a consistent 3-point shot would be nice for Alpi, I think I'd settle for catching at the 3-point line and working his way to the FT line. This catch at the 3-point line and dribble all the way to the rim thing works occasionally, but any player his size and age is going to turn the ball over a lot when you try and traverse that distance against NBA-caliber defenders.

But if Alpi catches and take one dribble or two dribbles to the FT line and pauses, things will open up. And please, please, someone else rotate on the perimeter and reposition for another shot. Don't just stand there, aimlessly. Green and KPJ could make a living rotating to the top of the key as Sengun keys some FT line-level high post action. AND, someone would be back on defense.

The drive-the-basket wildly, put-2-shooters-in-the-opposite-corners with Alpi at the 3-point line (or even worse semi-rolling to the basket) configuration leads to runaway fastbreaks by the other team. We need to concede that we're a slow team and take counter measures to get back on D.

Not even a 3 (although it would be great) a basic 15-18 foot jumper would punish defenses. If we're going to embrace the old school stuff might as well let him shoot those if he's good at it. Any consistent outside jumper unlocks more levels for this team.

That is the next evolution. I think he has the ability. Shooting over 80% from FT line, stroke looks good.
But it’s so obvious he’s not confident or in comfort zone from anything beyond 15 ft.
He can be a top 10 offensive player in the league upside with a reliable jumper imo

That one possession where Sengun pump faked like 5 times at the 3 point line and Jokic didn't bite was so funny to watch

Any knowledgable basketball person does not need to see it to know it will not work, that's a severe lack of ball handling.

    Who hates Alpi?

I'm serious he is the one guy that everybody likes, it's amazing the straw men you all create.

I mean really who hates Alpi?

The Chandler Parsons Special, except it's not backed by an above average 3pt shot.

If Porter gets rid of that thing early in the shot clock and lets AL P run the offense like the joker those athletes of ours become harder to guard. The problem is Silas doesn't know how to run and offense that way. That's why KPJ isn't as effective as he could be and in retrospect the team. There should be constant movement on the perimeter and strategic cuts that give our guys a true advantage.

The Rockets have zero leadership from the coaching staff if we are expecting a just turned 20 yr old to tell KPJ what his role is. The fans know it, the players know it, the media knows it... it seems the only person that doesn't is Silas. Its a tough job but one thing that should be understood with a young team is, there has to be an adjustment in strategy or pivot to the identity of the offense as some young players begin to establish themselves as cornerstones on offense. Its pretty damn clear by now who those players are.
