This clown you quoted, our boss here, (CF) is surprised by official NBA website rumors for the 9 PER yet unquestionable starter, who did not want to be here and will move on in his first chance; yet same CF creates trade ideas for their top PER player, (triple the surprise factor PER Jabari is), on a daily basis. Ok tanking is fine, but this pure hatred.
You can't even help yourself within the very same post, as if your questions aren't barbed to search for dissatisfaction. I don't feel strongly about Smith either way, he wasn't my top prospect nor even my preferred choice at #3. It's sad that giving him even the faintest of praise is unbearable to folks like you.
In all fairness who else do you take locked in at 3? Maybe Mathurin? I think we got the next best player in Eason at 17. Paolo was the prize and it wasn’t meant to be. At this point all you can do is cross your fingers and hope he gets better which he should at the very least become a knock down 3 point shooter and good defender. High level 3&D would be a win I guess if the rest of the team balls out. You see anyone pick 4-16 that may have looked any better? It is what it is Fam.
what does all this even mean. you actually just referred to Clutch as a clown? As if he has no idea wtf he's talking about. might want to let that sink in for a second if that's what you think
The 3 for 6 shooting from the 3-point line is what's promising. Smith didn't project to be an especially efficient offensive player given that he wasn't one in college, but he was supposed to be able to knock down 3s, and he's starting to look capable of doing that. That stretch where he hit the open 3 on one end, then got the rebound on the other end and went coast to coast for the mid-range jumper was pretty sweet. He's giving us flashes finally; just needs to build on that to be more consistent.
Just wish we had a coach who could draw up plays for him and also a pg who can set him up properly to really unlock his potential.
A lot of his misses are when he is trying to create for himself. He doesn't have the skill, quickness or strength to do it right now. I don't think there is much point in trying to create for himself, without some improvement on the things he lacks. Better have a role doing what he is good at and expand his game later on.
If he can keep making his open shots then he'd be straight with everything else he is doing. Straight, as far as what you'd expect to see from a rookie with promise.
Who does the media think we'd even trade him for? The only player I would want for Smith at this stage is Hali or a top PG prospect + picks and there is 0 chance of that happening. Smith had a slow start but he has tools and is playing better, he's not a Thabeet or T-Robb you can just grab for chips.
I think Jabari will average 16 or 17 points and 8 rebounds a game this year. I believe Bancheros and Mathurin points per game will go down to 18 points a game at least. Jabari will lead all rookies in rebounds, 2nd in scoring, 2nd in block shots. Our rebuilding process is going great: Green in his second year is averaging over 20 points a game Sengun is a solid center and can average 20 points and 10 rebounds a game (if Silas play him 30 minutes a game) Jabari is a elite shooter, has length and a good two-way player Tari is a baller and becoming a two-way player. 2023 draft prospect will be at least a Top 5 pick (Wemby, Scoot, Thompson Twins and Nick Smith Jr) one of these players will be on our team next year
