and 20 years old alp will put more basketballs into basket than adebayo, if silas just lets him get there...
It was a story. It's already gone. Was basically a photo of Alpi and KMJ where Alpi says KMJ is his brother. I think Alpi is especially close with Tari, KMJ, Boban, and Green. Seems to get along with pretty much everyone.
I mean Jokic is pretty unathletic and slow but they just build around it because offensively he's so good. He's great at patrolling the paint and not good at guarding the perimeter. He dramatically improved his physical conditioning. They've designed their defense around him staying inside and when forced into a switch they have the ability to execute a switch back instantly while allowing him to drop back into the paint. With an experienced team, it's possible to hide a player weakness with great execution and talented defenders. It hasn't worked for them in every single playoff series, but it has worked most of the time. That's why I've said for Sengun he has to improve defensively, but also a big part of his future improvement will come from simply playing on a better defensive team. These players are compounding each others' defensive problems and the C will take the brunt of the blame for that in the stats because they're a first line of defense for their own guy and a last line of defense for everyone else. I think he'll be fine, we just have to give Sengun more time. That's all it requires, more time.
Sengun is going to play well tonight and his outside shooting will be better. Sengun’s battle cry: You Can’t Stop Me Silas!!!
Sure, I just wanted to point that for some posters there is some magic attribute of a player 'being athletic' that gives you infinite credit forever, even if you have not improved for years, there is always hope that you will improve next year. And if you seemingly don't have it, then you are garbage and will be garbage forever. Jokic also has quick hands and uses them effectively. And his ability to quickly read the field helps him certainly. There are tons of factors that play into good defense. Your last paragraph sums it up. Sengun is already not bad.The perimeter defense is way worse in my opinion but sengun gets the blame because he is the last line of defense.
Agreed in general. I'll slightly disagree with one thing which is that Sengun is already not bad at defense. We have few good individual defenders (Jabari, Garuba, sometimes KPJ) but all of them have been atrocious at playing team defense. IMO he needs a season or two of experience and added muscle.
I think it summarized the difference between some and SOF labelled posters. YOU: He needs a season or two of experience and added muscle SOF labelled posters: He is going to have few more years of experience and will add muscle for 2026 championship contender.
he should stop shooting 3s altogether until he is promoted to a role where he will be able to take 20 shots a night...then and only then he can waste a few posssions on that
Him being able to take 20 shots a game is going to be reliant on whether he can become a decent shooter. 20 attempts at the post is tiring and not sustainable.
I hope he adds a better jump shot and eventually the 3-point shot to his repertoire. Mainly, I want him to take the open shots without hesitation. I see no reason why he should not eventually get there.
Yes. Probably the most limiting factor for him now is that he doesn't space the floor. But unless one thinks Garuba's absurd shooting numbers are sustainable, there is not a better shooting big that replaces Sengun so that shouldn't be an excuse either to not start him. Jabari is our best shooting big and he's a starter already.
I want him taking 1-2 threes per game. Not sure what his percentage is this year but his form looks better this year. He seems to be getting a bit more lift.
