We got a few more holes. Look at catching and maybe another outfielder and you can never have enough pitching.

Expect to stay under the CBT?

We’ll see. We have the ability to go to it and over it if we want to.

    Where you at with Yuli?

    We’ve talked to his agent.

I think you and I are talking apples and oranges.

I am talking about a guy like Chirinos, Alfaro, Roberto Perez, Barnhart all project to under $3M

Even a minor league deal with an invite would probably work for most of the guys I'm thinking of.

    What about Nolan Ryan.

Pennies now but at the time it was biggest in MLB history.

Carlos Lee was the biggest outside free agent signing in Astros history. But yes, Abreu is the biggest in the Crane era.

Cranes money, but yea. I would feel more comfortable with JV here. JV is the slump buster. He is the pitcher that can go out and win a 2-1 game in August when we have lost the first three games of a four game set and we need the bleeding to stop. Maybe Javier can develop into that type of ace? But, JV is a proven commodity in the regular season. But, I can see a team tossing unreasonable cash at him just to spite the Astros if nothing else. Dodgers anyone?

Bagwell is probably quite a recruiter ( just his presence) to a 1B who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s.

I get that, but if Nimmo is taking biggest offer because Boras, it could be difference between him and backup plan.

No problem with minimum deals and competing for job...

I'm still thinking Verlander using Dodgers for leverage.

Dodgers have a gaping hole at shortstop.

    Urias
    Gonsolin
    Kershaw
    May

Bobby Miller is their Hunter Brown. He's due up this year.

Buehler will be back in 2024.

I just think they are prioritizing shortstop and outfield first...
