Have been to NYC numerous times. That's how everybody talks up there in Queens. Really don't see what all the fuss is about.

Well there are different opinions on this on this thread.

I lean toward what you say but I get that some people don't like it. Obviously it's been brought up many times.

And my ultimate question is what should any person sound like?

what words and grammar should any person use?

I use my Hakeem vs Vernon arguing showing that Black people don't all sound the same, which is true.
And this goes for all races, so do all Asian comedians sound alike? Should she tell the same jokes as Margaret Cho? no.

I call BS on this. I literally grew up watching white men call my grandfather and other male family members n****r to their face and you say that's not racism? On my first full-time job my supervisor was card carrying member of the KKK and care to guess what word he used for the black employees on his crew? Care to guess how many times we heard that word in a single day? And as far as I'm concerned ANY black person who uses that word is one. You don't see other minority groups adopting racial slurs as terms of endearment. I don't see Jews calling each other the k-word, Hispanics calling themselves the w-word or b-word or Asians calling themselves the c-word or the g-word and yet you have these dumbass rappers using that word like it's something of which to be proud. That's why Joe Rogan felt so comfortable saying it over and over because those fools provide cover for white men like him to freely use that word.

Well I think the word going mainstream is done by rap music
    Which is basically mainstream
Isn’t snoop and Dre doing the super bowl half time show ?

Meh, I'll support her right to get hers until there's some blatant ethical problem like what Paula Dean said or did. Not that many Asian Americans headlining shows or doing movie deals.

Is she totally ripping a life experience totally alien to her? Pop artists rip off themes from other cultures all the time. If they're successful, people give them leeway to toe some arbitrary line so that the artists can perform more and contribute, which then gets ripped off by virtue of its success.

It's also fine to complain about it as that is today's standard. White girl wearing a chinese qi pao. Wu Tang working the ways of Shaolin. Total ripoff and cultural appropriation....and I'll cash them checks the day I figure out how to use my race card at the bank.

Not sure how I didn't see this post but I'd call BS on this.

You just sound like an old dude screaming at the clouds and shaking his fist at that silly rap music.

I stand by my statement, in fact, I'm sure if you polled other black people they would agree that being called apes with low IQ is 500x worse than the N-word in rap songs. Not even close lol.

Words have meaning and have context. I've never NEVER seen a white person canceled for slipping up and saying the n-word in a rap song. Hell, someone did it on stage WITH Kendrick Lamar and they all had a good laugh about it. Intent, context, that matters in language.

I've seen MULTIPLE streamers slip up singing a rap song and say the word and its always a "Haha, they said the word." no one gets canceled for doing that.

Now call black people apes and suggest they have low IQ and see what happens.
