I trust we're just a better organization overall than those franchises. I guess we'll see because it usually starts at ownership and ours is too new to judge fairly right now and we could end up the Knicks for next 2 decades.

I'm saying a Udoka hire isn't going to magically change our fortunes, nor will it lead to the same success. Sure, Udoka was the coach of the EC champs, but OP is making it seem like the Celtics were some bottom-feeding team before he came along. Stevens was a great coach and was in the postseason often, before assuming a different role in the organization.

Udoka wasn't the primary factor in the Celtics winning the East. Tatum, Smart, Brown and the rest of the well-built team, were.

Even now, the Celtics are, statistically, the best team in the entire league. And Udoka is as far removed from that team as possible.

Why? Because he gave you exactly the result you wanted - worst record guaranteed top 5 pick all while your young talent improves ....

With the Westbrook trade looming on the clock, you had a very limited time to acquire premium talent.

    They didn't want W's.

Year one was a disaster before he coached a single game with Harden asking out. from there it was a race to the bottom. After that, this team lacked talent capable of winning much in the league.

They had $59,612,188 in dead money on the books in year two and $62,203,370 in dead money this season - Most of that John Wall. That's 46.5% of the cap last year and 45.8% of this season's cap space as dead money ..... and some expect winning while the better teams in the league are spending north of 3x their salary obligations?

All of that comes off the books at the end of this season and you can infuse some veteran talent into this roster and for the first time since Harden waltzed his ass to Brooklyn, Silas should have a quality roster to work with.

If Sone can land the right point guard next offseason, be that thru trade or FA, this team should be dramatically improved and I think Silas should get the opportunity to coach that improved roster considering the circumstances the past 3 years, none of which were really in his control - yet in the mean time he's given you the best of both worlds.

No, we didn't land the #1 ..... but we did pick 2 and 3 and get two really good prospects that have huge upside potential.

One of those has been developing quite nicely in Green who was statistically the worst player in the league at one point last season, mainly because he couldn't defend your little sister or run a simple pick and roll.

Now, a year later he's a pretty decent defender, something I never thought we'd say, and he's running the pick and roll at a high level with Sengun or Garuba .... that's a significant development since the consensus was he would always require someone to set him up - that's not the case anymore.

Nope, we didn't get the #1 pick ..... but at 2 and 3 we got players who have a high chance of being star players down the line, something we have a much lower chance of happening the further down the draft you get.

We just have to have some patience as fans ....

lol we could have won championship with harden you doubter!

yes it wasnt probable but its not any less probable than we winning in next 5 or 10 years

corona years, that means now, is the best chance to win it all due to volatility/unpredictability increased...

anthony freaking softie davis has won it in corona times
yanis that can shoot has won it
bultler and the undraftees come twice near winning it all and he cant shoot either
cp3 and suns! almost won it

we had a chance with harden and could have won it..should of gonne all in...
    this is what competitors do...

    PS
milwaukee could of tank... they had a perfect excuse, their superstar cant shoot..yet they went all in and yanis put 50 piecer in the finals despite not being able to shoot 3s...

and our cowardly fanbase calls for the tank because alpi cant shoot??!!
they dont lack shooting they lack heart of a champion!
