The article the replies linked to says she's an individual contributor. Devs mainly write algos in respect to what product tells them to write. Bureaucracy, red tape, bloat and all of that...
    https://restofworld.org/2022/misinformation-on-twitter-will-get-worse/

Like your last post on Melissa, many of those replies are gleefully spiteful and likely jealous of the clout these devs have in relation to their own online or personal status.

Having a trans-person as the face of that resentment likely easier to crystalize rage at what was once a 1000+ person engineering effort.

Will be interesting to see how Elon will pivot that "bloated shithole" into a 44 billion dollar answer to "freedom" and "saving humanity".

I looked into the person's tweets and I think it is fair to say they are not politically neutral.

Basically, if he's offended personally, a person is banned. But anti-semitism or other hate speech is cool. Or in some cases, just have a twitter poll and let people decide if someone's voice should be banned.

It's funny to see the right (or at least the Alex Jones fans subset) start complaining again as they realize Musk is just another man-child instead of their free-speech savior.

Elon Musk's commitment to free speech:

    1. Unban people he likes
    2. Ban people he doesn't like
    3. Have polls to let the public decide what speech is acceptable
    4. After complaining about shadow banning, plan to implement shadow banning as official policy

I guess when you fired most of your staff, you probably can't have a content moderation council or anyone to write actual algorithms, so your CEO gets to personally take on the role of content moderator.

The good news is you do not have to use the platform if you don't want to.

I was told if you don't like the platform, you can simply create your own.

It's fun to see you start with idealist goals of what Musk would do with Twitter, and then when he repeatedly lets you down, shift to this. It's like all the people who defend everything Trump says until they can't anymore. I don't use Twitter actively, but I will continue to comment on it because Twitter has influence (remember how it was the townsquare of democracy?) and I think idiotic billionaires can do vast damage to society and my sphere of caring about the world goes beyond the things I use. I enjoy exposing hypocrisy and the sad worship and groveling at billionaires' feet, so if you don't like that, you also don't have to read my posts. I did it with Trump, and I'll continue to do it with New-Trump.

Also a funny statement coming from someone who spent all his time complaining about Twitter's supposed unfairness pre-Musk.

Hence why I think people who cry about speech when it comes to social media platforms are the biggest whining b****es to exist.

We see this time and time again. There probably was a point SG was praising Bush Jr for his work.

You see this with the conservative base frequently. They dropped Bush Jr. They will drop Trump. Elon Musk is just riding the wave of easily panderable speech for right wingers. Eventually he will be kicked to the side.

It's a bunch of goal post ******** to the extreme.

Yup. You definitely can. Most people who are criticizing Musk now are not doing it because they "like Twitter" and want to keep it around. They just what to show people like you how easy it is to pander to right wing sensibilities and talking points and how easily it fails in practice.

That's all. Let Twitter burn to the ground. The only people I feel sorry for are the middle and low level employes that don't have managerial power.

You honestly think the people criticizing Musk here are doing it because they are losing their precious Twitter?

Lol, dude, come on. You know that ain't it. We are stomping on the grave of Twitter and Musk's managerial prowess. Don't see this as nothing more than just this. It's pure schadenfreude

To clarify, you believe I thought Musk would be able to squeeze a 5 year plan into the 3 weeks he has owned Twitter? Que? And I don't know what a 'town square of democracy' means considering partisan hacks on both sides continue to think elections are rigged and stolen and can't comprehend the basic concept of the EC. Some of you need to understand Twitter is HIS platform and for the most part can do whatever he wants. If you wish to get caught up on some silly narrative as a town square of democracy, then perhaps you belong in the gullible cess pool of political opinions.

People who thought Twitter was going to crash and burn Thursday night after the mass exodus sounded really ignorant.

I dont recall spending much time complaining about Twitter pre-Musk. Feel free to read all my previous posts to expose me. I dont recall anyone I cared about getting banned.

Anyways, you should catch me outside early 2024 to get my opinion on Musks impact on Twitter. 3 weeks is a little ridiculous.

Its Elons platform. He can do whatever he wants.
