Sinema got to Washington and cashed her checks, that was the only goal. I've become extremely jaded to the nonsense that goes on in our Government, but her BS was on another level. Manchin is a moderate finding a way to survive in a deep red state. Sinema just flat out lied, and not regular government lies, a complete misrepresentation.
Yeah, I got lost in the middle of that post and it ended up making no sense. CARES had a GOP senate (53 Republicans voted for it), but otherwise you are correct. Somehow, I switched to giving examples of the full bipartisan shitshow laws that got passed. I am sure there are plenty of terrible laws passed by a Republican Senate, House, and President too though.
Here's the post they are referring to which was deleted by the dumb blonde. I'll rate this blonde's post 3 Boeberts and 2 Herschels for stupidity.
“The gap in excess death rates between Republicans and Democrats is concentrated in counties with low vaccination rates and only materializes after vaccines became widely available,” the study notes. https://www.vice.com/en/article/v7v...from-covid-before-the-midterms-than-democrats
Just my personal opinion but I think Dems should all bow down and thank Manchin for giving us the version of BBB the actually passed. The original version didn't pay for itself and actually only funded half the spending. Manchin's version had tax reform that not only covered the cost but also reduced the deficit. And considering how bad inflation is, I really think Manchin saved the Democrats from themselves with the version that passed.
Ok that's what I was wondering she is gonna hit it and quite it. Can you direct me to some of the things she has pushed, or who these wealthy people are supposed to be? I would like to do a deep dive on this topic.
Man I can't believe I have missed this She is Queen Karen even down to the haircut. Looks like she is going to follow the Trump playbook to a T was this a fund-raising plea? Always be grifting.
There's a lot of them, but the most glaring one is this past summer where she spent all her time fundraising from private equity and then held the slimmed down BBB hostage to get rid of the carried interest loophole that lets private equity people pay way lower taxes on their gains. Fundraising: https://perfectunion.us/sinema-more...ng-before-killing-carried-interest-provision/ Payoff: https://www.businessinsider.com/kyr...re-win-from-carried-interest-tax-break-2022-8 She also sought out Republican money prior to taking her filibuster stance: https://www.theguardian.com/busines...publican-fossil-fuel-donors-filibuster-stance She was also at a fundraiser where she praised GOPers and mocked Biden: https://www.businessinsider.com/sin...rthy-and-andy-biggs-at-fundraiser-book-2022-3
I had been saying this during the time this discussion was ongoing and people came at my head for backing what Manchin was doing, while a lot of people were claiming he was a DINO or in the pocket of corporations his daughter was involved in I kept saying he was stopping the overreach. Manchin really saved us and showed that Democrats are not sheep.
Understandably a lot of progressives don't like Manchin but he is a serious politician and has shown that he is a dedicated Democrat. Sinema on the other hand doesn't seem to take her job seriously. While many in the Democratic caucus don't agree with Manchin he does appear to be willing to work with them and explain why he is doing things. Sinema's actions seem much less clear and a lot of time she seems more interested in grabbing attention for her fashion choices and lifestyle than she is in being a Senator.
Frisch is making a comeback on Boebert, 500 vote gap. May be too little to go but it’s interesting to watch.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/18/politics/lauren-boebert-recount-colorado-adam-frisch Democrat Adam Frisch announced Friday that he had called GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert and conceded the race for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. Although there will be an automatic recount done by the Colorado secretary of state’s office, Frisch said in a live Facebook speech that he did not ask for a recount, does not expect the results to change and does not want there to be fundraising done for an essentially fruitless cause. “The likelihood of this recount changing more than a handful of votes is very small. Very, very small. It’d be disingenuous and unethical for us or any other group to continue to raise false hope and encourage fundraising for a recount,” Frisch said. “Colorado elections are safe, accurate, and secure. Please save your money for your groceries, your rent, your children, and for other important causes and organizations. I just got off the phone with Rep. Boebert. I called her to formally concede this election.” ____ Imagine this statement coming from a modern day Republican. Inconceivable.
Wait....what? 500 vote difference...auto recount....and conceding? The Republican talking point will be "well of course he doesn't want a recount, they will find evidence of Democrat cheating"
