I really only notice them if they annoy me, then their plates become part of the insults. Saw these two in the past week: Whos 1st on a Tesla that constantly let people pull out in front of them Join Now on this swanky Mercades going 10mph under the speed limit Obligatory:
It must mean garden hoes. Did you get a discount on that with your AARP membership? Do you go out to the garage, crack open an old Milwaukee and gaze at it and your Harley while you daydream of a youth long gone? What does your driving cap say? Trump or Corvette?
Why you all in here slamming Corvettes? They are some of the best used sports car values out there. I forget this is a place that thinks Cadillacs are just for old people.
Yeah, Vettes are pretty great sports cars for the value, eventually I wouldn't mind a C5/6/7, they all hit a low point and then either stay there or appreciate depending on year/model. For the price to performance you can get out of them they're pretty great. I don't like the older 4th generation much, but I think it's because I prefer the newer body styles. Also, their C8 is amazing. I also want the manual transmission though, so I'll probably go with a Vette or a 911 some day. That's the only thing sad about the C8, don't get me wrong modern automatic transmissions are insane/faster than humans, I just prefer to have a true clutch/gear shift and if I have to rebuild the transmission it's a lot quicker for me.
I like the C4s before they got their MCE. Their styling still holds up today, at least to my eyes. My uncle had a red one that he let me drive when I was a teenager. I don't know what he was thinking. The car probably had all of 250 horsepower but begged to be driven FAST. Every time I would look down at the speedometer I was like, oops! I have to give my young self credit for realizing that I would kill myself in no time if I owned one.
Oh man, if I had a story like that I might be more into C4s, thinking back... It might have been a memory block, my brother has a similar story to yours and I unfortunately don't have one like that other than getting to hear about it later. I bet it was pretty awesome!
I wish I had more car stories and less car fantasies! I dream of someday owning a '63. My dad (huge car guy) had a few notable Corvettes before I came along. He had a couple mid '70s jobs when I was young, but I'm almost embarrassed to mention them. Now the early big block C3s... they were cool. Those I could settle for.
Yeah, the C5 C6 is my sweet spot looks and value, you could get a good one for under 10 I don't know what those prices are doing now.
That C4 is a little too big and blocky for me, but in the right color scheme they look great. The C5 has just the right amount of curvature and sleekness, it's my favorite modern Corvette.
