Not really, we have just faced way better competition. Our schedule has been ridiculous. I’ve never seen a more difficult stretch of games.

I have the same feeling about KPJ as I did Christian Wood. He doesn’t understand the flow of a game. More often than not he misses reads and or takes I’ll advised shots in the flow of the game.

The excuse is that he isn’t a pg, but it sure seems like Jalen Green is a much better decision maker with the ball in his hands.

They have different roles and responsibilities - of course they are viewed differently.

Green doesn't make the mistake of not getting the ball to Green like in the Pelicans game. Porter is the one calling the actions and peoples #s and he has just failed at doing it very well or even showing much progress in it

Been my point for a while now. Hate hearing the excuse about that being Jalen’s responsibility. Tf? He handles the ball too, so it is his job to make reads. Everyone on the court needs to do that. It’s all bc they hate KPJ. He could score 40 on 15/18 shooting and 8 dimes, and folks would be pissed.. they would say he didn’t get Sengun and Jalen enough touches.

When he leads the fastbreak, I immediately lose hope. He doesn’t make the fundamental decision, when the play is In his favor.. it’s a style/substance issue with him

KPJ is just a nba player who is selfish. Jalen Green is an elite player and soon to be a superstar. This is KPJ 4th year. Watching the game, you could clearly see he does not fit the offense. Last night, the first quarter was awesome with great passing and sound defense. After that, KPJ started play isolation offense, shooting crazy shots and only gave the ball up when seconds was running out. Examples:
--They are not letting KPJ and Jalen play together now, either Jalen is on the court or KPJ is on the court by themselves most of the time.
--You could clearly see KPJ would not pass the ball to Sengun when had a guard pinned down around the basket.... NOPE! KPJ looked the other way and even the TV announcers is asking why he does not pass the ball to Sengun.
--We cannot trade KPJ because he does not have any value. You cannot compare Jalen or Sengun to KPJ because any GM in a heartbeat would trade for both of those guys.
Would any GM trade for KPJ?

We were worse last season. We started 1-16 with a horrific dual big lineup. We ended the season with -8.5 point differential, this year we have a still horrific -7.3 differential.

I think most players are doing better individually. Sengun especially has expanded his role and is attracting double and triple teams and handling it well. Green's percentages are up across the board. That our sophomores are more efficient and showing growth makes KPJ's drop off more concerning as our "veteran".

Schedule has been tough, but a quick glance at strength of schedule rankings and we are at 5th.

    You are 100% correct!

I just so happen to go back and look at last night's numbers and both Jaleen and KPJ each had 17pts and 5 TOs but KPJ had 11 rebs, flirted with a double double and had the highest +/- on the team plus we got the "W" and people are still complaining!

Sometimes all I can do is SMH.

KPJ is a really good player, I think the data shows that he’s better off the ball as a secondary play maker/spot up shooter. This team won’t win many games until they get a point guard who protects the rock and more efficiently runs their sets.

Of course that would be great, but Porter is not Clay or Curry. Both Clay and Curry are second generation with high IQs. The GSW are a system and have super role players that play within themselves for the backcourt to play off of. One can want Porter/ Green to become like them but it’s probably not going to happen.

The organization has over given to Porter and now it looks like it’s time to take some of it back. He is Silas’s man and when Silas goes Porter will follow. Porter is nothing more than a shill (he doesn’t even know it) in a bigger game being played by the front office to acquire top talent. In lots of ways I feel for him.

Yeah it’s totally reasonable to have the argument that he hasn’t had as much experience as your normal 4th year player, but it’s absolutely ridiculous when the claims are he’s really only played 1 season or less, even if he did change positions. He’s had 4 NBA level off seasons/training camps with 4 seasons of access to NBA level strength and conditioning pros. It’s not as if he hasn’t done a bit of playmaking as a player until last season. His first season here as a SG his assist% was above 30%.

Saying people complain about him more just because they don’t like him is a lazy deflection on the real issues that he has not improved on thus far. As someone pointed out he’s last in turnovers and 2nd to last in scoring efficiency(while being the 2nd highest scorer) on the team. There’s no argument that needs to be made. It is factual that those are two of the three most important aspects of his role.

And to act like Jalen and Sengun haven’t gotten plenty of hate, also pretty ridiculous. Jalen as a volume scorer in his first year was more efficient than any year of KPJs career and so far in year 2 he has maintained that overall efficiency after a terrible start. It’s what we want to see out of him in his role.

He could and will score 40 on 15/18 shooting once in a while, because some day all those difficult shots will fall. Almost all other days many few of them will fall. People who are aware of this, will be happy for the performance that day and will know what is coming tomorrow. They will be pissed because that one day will give KPJ the feeling that he actually is doing the right thing, and he'll keep doing that.

They will be pissed. He scored 35 against the raptors on great efficiency when Jalen struggled, but people were upset with him. They only want Jalen to have games like that. Bottom line, there’s nothing KPJ can do to please most the fans. That’s the point I’m making

We were 1 and 16 with a average schedule last year, but this present schedule is tougher because of the away games and playing playoff teams. In 17 games, we might be 5 and 12 before the Thanksgiving break

The Rockets have played the most road games so far, which is a pretty important factor that SOS doesn't account for. Looking at the top 16 teams in this league, every single team has had a better home record than road record. Warriors for example are on the extreme end with 0 road wins and 6-1 at home.

The next highest number of road games played is the Jazz, 5-5 on the road and 5-1 at home.
