That sounds *great*! If we jail more people than just about any other nation, it would be a great admonition to have our POTUS in a jail cell for 4 years. This might be the single best argument for DJT I've encountered so far. "Um, no, you won't be going to the White House. *ahem*. We'll provide a map and an escort... we'll just explain it when you get here. "
Dems were pretty preoccupied with their own nomination fight in 2016 - I doubt they were trying to interfere with the GOP at that point. Cruz was probably considered the most beatable anyway because he was a typical GOPer but also disliked by everyone.
So, the next big conspiracy theory is going to be when enough states exclude him from their ballots that he can't possibly win the election, citing section 3 of the 14th amendment? Will be fun to watch. This clown doesn't stand a chance. The nominee will be DeSantis, or Dan Crenshaw, if he chooses to run.
He doesn't care if he wins... This is all about money, he knows if he puts on a good show he will get paid.. T_Man
Oh, he cares. He loves power. He loves pretending he's King of the world, loved and admired by everyone. An extreme narcissist like Trump can't stand the fact that Biden beat him. You know it eats away at that psychopath every single day. Power, money, and someone stroking his ego are his goals in life. They take priority over everyone else. Everyone and everything. He could care less about anyone but himself. His supporters are just too damn stupid to figure that out

I think Trump has a pretty good chance of winning the GOP Nomination. He already has a dedicated base and while DeSantis is gaining in popularilty it doesn't yet appear he has the same base that Trump has. The GOP primary process rewards early success and that is why Trump won in the first place. If you separate yourself early from the crowded field in the GOP you can build up enough momentum to cruise to the nomination. All Trump has to do is win most of the early primaries and even if most Republicans still don't vote for him he will rack up enough early delegates to win.
From Trump's speech...(talking about avoiding war) "and yet I've gone decades, decades without a war. The first President to do it for that long a period"

Donald Trump announces 2024 presidential run. This gay Congressman is trying to stop him. The out Congressman is trying to bar Trump from running by using the 14th Amendment. https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2022/11...presidential-run-gay-congressman-trying-stop/
Our judicial system is not setup to deal with someone like Trump. HOWEVER the founders did give a political solution which the Republican party decided to abandon their constitutional duties with, and refused to impeach Trump. The Republicans are the ones responsible for this mess. Merrick Garland is not equip with the tools needed to fix Democracy nor should he or one single man. That duty falls squarely on the shoulders of the largest consensus body of elected officials that closest represent the people in the parts of the country they come from. Republicans... NOT JUST THE MAGA ONES.... have failed the country, and here we are with the Trump mess, and the mockery that will be him being able to show the world how America is just like any other third world country where the elite can just buy their way out of justice with threats, and lawyering. So yeah... you are right Trig.... Trump does have dozens of ways out. Because our constitutional Republic did not setup the Judicial branch to have the power to bring someone like him to justice alone.
