So...Brown, their best pitching prospect, Lee, their best catching prospect, Leon, their best position player prospect, Garcia, a proven ML pitcher AND some random player for a first baseman?
I'm wondering if the Cardinals would be interested in trading Alec Burleson? Would Maton and a Prospect do it? Food for thought. Cheaper player blocked in the Big Leagues and can hit. Would be a great young talent to add on th bench who could start in LF or DH if need be
First, it shouldn’t really matter where a prospect ranks in a given system, especially one like the Astros that’s not a top 5-10 farm. To acquire a top end, elite player with more than a half decade left of control will objectively hurt. How much is the question and yes, I made that trade proposition out of my ***, but I suspect it’s not *that* far off from what KC would demand. It was a general trade proposition for, what, a top 10-15 valued trade asset in the league salary and talent considered. Summarizing Vinnie as just a first baseman in your comment also under slights Vinnie considerably.
Another one. Wonder if the Orioles would be open to Urquidy for Grayson Rodriguez SP Orioles? He is there highest ranked SP. Texas Native
Winker had a really good 2021 season with Cincy, and appears to have a lot of natural talent, but something about him rubs me the wrong way. Not the first time I heard things like that. If it was up to me, I wouldn't want that in my locker room if I could help it.
Hard to know how much of it is fair and how much of it isn’t. I can only say that he has the reputation of being someone that doesn’t want to put in work or play hurt. He certainly isn’t the first guy like that - but in his case he is notorious for it.
Are you surprised Click's acting this way? I'm not Things like this are just another reason Crane showed him the door down on Crawford.
You're smoking crack. Hunter Brown has ace potential. He's not going anywhere unless it's for a healthy Trout or Ohtani. Definitely not for a WAR of 1.5.
I can't make up my mind which starting pitcher I'm more excited about going forward, Valdez or Javier. Impossible to pick at this point.
I love both, but I'm firmly in the Javier camp. I was angry when they started him in the bull pen at the beginning of last year and not happy putting him there before that. He did well there, but he was always a starter in my mind. Note - 2022 is now last year in my mind.
Javier for sure. Strikeouts>>>relying on contact to the right places, especially with the new shift rules.
Poor Austin Davis. Nobody cares about the Southy Slider. lol. This was a Click recommendation and maybe the last of the Click Jedi.
I'm not as concerned with the shift changes as some. We still can optimize positioning under the new rules as well. But it will increase the fielding value portion of 1B since the shift won't be there to cover his shortcomings from lack of range. The caveat is the importance of pitchers covering 1B increases as well.
Scorched earth is a career ender for an employee. In the end, Click never seemed to grasp that he was an employee and not de facto owner.
