he is a below average CF. Should not be a defensive replacement for McCormick in the 9th. If Yordan is coming out, then put Dubon in left. Thats my only real complaint.

Be really shocked if Verlander isn't back.

When was the last time the Astros signed someone who had a QO?

Rizzo thing doesn't surprise me. He is the better defender compared to Bell and Abreu. Rizzo does have a qualifying offer attached though. At the very least... drive up the price for the Yankees.

Rizzoli gotta be a smoke screen.

Abreu just makes too much sense. You could have Abreu/Bell and Yuli for cheaper and not lose the signing poll money or draft pick.

Abreu is getting Yuli old though. I’d be equally happy with Rizzo or Bell.

Imagine if Yuli signs with the Yankees? Man I'm going to miss him. I know he didnt have the best stats this past year but there are so many intangibles that he provides

Rizzo would be a GREAT addition. Consistent .800 OPS hitter, 4 gold gloves to his name, postseason experience... Great character guy... really a perfect fit.

Walker would be an awful return for Lance

He isn’t going to be traded, but if he was we would get WAY more than that

So if we resign brantley/montero and add rizzo

+ keeping verlander are you okay rolling with that ? I am… I think that is an easy favorite for WS champ.

could also flip urquidy for a catcher like Jansen

I'm not buying that Verlander is leaving just because he hasn't signed quickly. Why would he sign with us quickly when he can drive the price up first by talking to other teams? It's smart business on his part.

Rizzo would look really good in that 7 hole hitting behind Willson Contreras.

    2B Altuve
    SS Pena
    LF Alvarez
    3B Bregman
    RF Tucker
    DH Contreras
    1B Rizzo
    CF McCormick
    C Maldonado

I hope Rizzo isn't our top choice. He's going to be expensive and he's not as good as Abreu and there are only 3 years difference between the 2. Abreu has been consistently good and Rizzo has not been.

Rizzo is good defensively but I just don't see the Stros willing to lose the pick with the QO.

    I guess we'll see.....
