I'm sure there will be 8 to 10 players who will play this season who will not be on the opening day roster. They will get time for various reasons, but I want a team 35 players deep so there is not a significant drop off in production when they get here, even if it's just briefly.
Does it matter the color of their skin?? They're Astros!! Would it be ok for someone to say, "my favorite Stros are white"?
AAV is $15M in 23 and 24 because of his $2M buyout in 25. Salary gets confusing because payments are not determinate for the luxury tax. Martinez, Stanek and Maton were well managed and successful in their limited roles. Abreu's leverage role was altered dramatically since the beginning of the season. Pitching in general seems to have more value than similarly ranked position players.
You know the answer to that. But I agree the shirt they wear along with their performance is far more important.
Real racist, and where are all those guys who are so quick to jump on people for imaginary racism with nothing to say about actual racism?
In Clownworld, Real Racism by non whites (maybe orientals) cannot happen. Definition has changed 100% since was young. But at least is shows a different and more subtle form of Racism rather than jumping straight to lynching. Anyway We better get back to baseball because this will REEEeeee the echo chamber.
If I may, I’m going to suggest you go with “Asians” instead of “orientals”. I don’t know if orientals is offensive, but it’s a bit dated and usually refers to rugs. edit : to be clear, I’m not inviting a discussion on race or politics. Just a public service announcement type of a thing.
Unprecedented to have an openly admitted racist amongst the bbs... I mean there are a lot of posters with obvious racial bias, but never seen somebody so freely admit that its there and its "normal and maybe it should be even more publicized because diversity is bad for the city/country/etc...."
Curt Shilling mentioned similar a few years ago. "Swing and miss stuff" being the best play for a pitcher, especially in the postseason There's an inherent advantage from keeping the ball out of play. This removes the possibility of SFs, errors, runners advancing bases, etc Smoltz had more swing-and-miss stuff than Maddux and Glavine yet was the Braves #3 starter and the 3rd best pitcher ERA-wise in the regular season. Then the playoffs began, and he was their best pitcher ERA-wise by a .50-1.0 run. This also helped allow him to be an effective reliever later in his career
You have managed to single-handedly ruin the ONE ****ING PLACE ON THE INTERNET I GO TO DISTRACT MYSELF AND NOT BE BOMBARDED WITH POLITICALLY CHARGED BULLSHIT.
