Not for fun, because he's been incredibly incompetent about the whole thing from beginning to end.

For reasons why - look at the title of this thread

Your Clutchfans user name should probably contain "parody" in it.

    #2 yes. And it'd stand EZ$
#3 understated - just say he lies - and yes EZ$

    FACTS.

Elon = greed/dumb = not my bag personally.

Twitter outcome changes nothing. Liar. Narcissist.

Absolute insanity. This isn’t incompetence, this is an intentional sabotage. For what reasons, I have no clue, but Elon whatever his motive is, is intentionally going to burn twitter to the ground. Twitter is just a fun social media website for most people in the US but I’ve heard it’s a lot more important in countries with less press freedom and free speech limitations.

I am confused. The Federal Reserve has been saying they are trying to raise unemployment numbers. Why? Because there is so much bloat in the system. Poorly ran companies need to go under. Bloated tech companies need to come up with better products instead of this insatiable drive to turn consumers into products. The advertisement market is about to crash. Facebook is the first victim.

Enter Musk and Twitter. He likes the product, notes its poorly monetized and frankly loaded down with bloat. The culture mindset is "Go work for Twitter! Amazing work place. Awesome benefits. Work from home whenever you want. Do whatever amount of work you want to do". It really is a great place to work! Until recession hits.
This is Musks mindset, and whether we agree or not agree is irrelevant. All Musk bought was a huge user base. He's demolishing the structure and doing a complete rebuild. And in that process he is removing anyone and everyone who disagrees with his approach.

There is a reality in this Twitter buyout. He bought it. Took it private. He can do whatever he wants. He doesnt need to get choked down on with public board of directors who have their own personal motives. There is a significant portion of the company who are Jack Dorsey loyalists and embrace Musk. And you can safely bet the Dorsey loyalists have been conspiring a coup in the company and executed the second Musk took ownership. Most of the people who got fired in the first couple days were put on a list a long time ago.

There is a lot of blow out right now. Those who knew they would be fired day 1 have been doing their own counter work and will do whatever to make the company burn.
The additional reality is that most people don't care about Twitter. Sure they have heard of the platform but know very little of it other than seeing embedded tweets. Facebook's user base is under fire. Then put regulatory pressure on Tik Tok, which seems to be popping up again. There is a good chance he will start sucking in lots of users from those other platforms....by adding new products.

Perhaps we should look back at history a bit...

Remember when you thought Elon was just trolling?

Remember when you thought Elon taking over Twitter would has to help Trump?

Remember when you were concerned with Elon taking over Twitter?

Remember when you changed your mind and decided it was to help Elon run for President?

Remember when you opposed this but now would be OK with it if he pays $8?

Remember when you liked the idea of blue check marks to protect prominent names? (One of my favorite, "Elon changed his mind, so I have to change mine" moments)

Remember when you thought Musk's management style - which apparently includes firing half your staff without knowing which ones you need, telling people they have 24 hours to get back to the office, etc - was just "pushing them to excel?

Remember when you thought Musk was exposing Gates for shorting Telsa stock?

Remember when you thought if Gates hadn't made $500MM shorting an overvalued company, somehow that money would have ended up in Tesla's hands?

Remember when you thought Musk was "owning" Twitter by claiming he could back out of the deal?

Remember how you thought signing a binding offer that takes away all of Musk's rights was a genius move on Musk's part to get a lower price?

Remember when you believed Musk and then he got completely obliterated in court when it turned out he was wrong?

Remember when you thought it was a genius move of Musk's to sell stock and just buy it back later, ignoring that he actually would have to keep selling stock to fund the trainwreck he locked himself into?

Remember when it wasn't actually Trump 2024 or Elon 2024, but DeSantis 2024 that was the whole purpose of this?

    Oh wait...

Remember when you thought Musk could buy more shares of Twitter in middle of a lawsuit to try to block his own purchase?

    We could go on...

    5-10 minutes?

I included all the quotes you can link directly back to. Are you saying you didn't think Elon was smart for selling stock so he could buy it back? Are you saying you didn't value blue check marks stopping impersonators? Are you saying you didn't, at various times, think this was to Trump 2024, then Elon 2024, then DeSantis 2024's benefit?

I dont know what stocks elon sold or bought back. Either do you.

blue check marks were being sold underground and used for fraudulent purposes. I dont give a rats ass about impersonators. I visit direct feeds from my following list.

Yes, I did believe Trump was the favorite for 2024. Why are you calling me out for this? Everyone in the media has been talking about this. Why are you not raging at them for being wrong. Genuinely confused. I under estimated DeSantis national appeal.

Yes, I did mention Musk and 2024. It was poor grammar. Yes, Musk is going to use Twitter to come after 2024 elections. Get over it. Its going to happen.

Again, Musk and DeSantis are getting tight. My current thesis is Musk will use Twitter to the best of his capability, whatever that is, to help DeSantis.
This is all subjective, and believe it or not, people are allowed to change their position! Its still 2 years away. Relax.

Folks, the joke's on us, Elon is going to be laughing all the way to the Bank-

    -ruptcy Court in Wilmington, DE.

Look on the bright side though, at the rate things are going, Elon won't have to pay Parag Agrawal as much as he'll be outnumbered on the Creditors Committee - a moral victory for @Commodore and @AroundTheWorld

Again. He wants to turn it into WeChat sort of thing, but yes, for a global thing.

There is enormous value putting everyone equally on the world stage. For example, without massive red tape banking, individuals all around the world can bid on jobs online. If I personally want to hire a jr analytics person in India, its difficult as an individual. A global wechat would make it simple to transact.

Sure we do. Directors of companies have to publicize stock buys and sales. Here's a guide for you:

    https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/tsla/insider-activity

But if you truly believe this, why were you saying Musk was smart for selling stocks so he could buy them back later?

Go back to your post: https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/...o-believe-or-not.315260/page-28#post-14059246

You were defending the value of blue checks marks to protect from impersonators. Exactly the opposite of the elitism stuff you talk about now - conveniently, that view changed when Musk decided to change. Prior to that, you were all about verification and protecting people from impersonators. This:

"The biggest complaints I've heard about are people scraping prominent names and all their account information and impersonating them followed up with scam attempts."

Is exactly what the new system made even easier, but you supported it fully criticizing me for being concerned about the exact thing you previously were. Until Musk scrapped it this morning, which I suspect will change your views on it too.

"Short term, emotional thinking". You went from Trump 2024 to Elon 2024 in 5 days.

"For those who don't get it, Elon is gearing up for a 2024 presidential run." is not poor grammar. It's pretty clear what the meaning is.

Amusingly, what supposedly started all of this for Musk was Babylon Bee being banned. But under Elon Musk's new parody rules, because it didn't have Parody in their screen name, they be banned under his new rules too.
