That’s the person who should be coming off the bench. We should start Tari. Martin and EG should be the first 2 off the bench. But Silas not trying to win, so I guess adjustments don’t really matter at this point.
Proof that the team wants to tank: Tari was playing both ends of the court against the Raptors and gave us a shot to win the game basically by himself, but with just minutes in the game, Silas takes him out when he was really the only player doing anything.
I just believe in rewarding the guys that are playing well. It sets a bad precedent to build a culture on politics and not on merit.
I don't know if I would go that far, but I don't see why he can't come off the bench until he gets himself together. If Tari and KJ are playing better, they should start. Their development is important too
Steals per 36 with at least 100 minutes played this season #2 Eason 2.8 #9 Garuba 2.3 Eason & Garuba - The Defensive Duo And from the top rope with a surprise - Nix at #19 with 2.0 steals Garuba is also #8 in rebounds at 13.9
It is the dynamic TRIO: KMJ-Garuba-Eason 25 minutes with KPJ+Green: + 27.4 net rating 13 minutes with Gordon and Nix: + 43.9 net rating (and gordon and nix were not playing well, lol) 7 minutes with Green and Nix: + 37.9 net rating The sample is small but come on. They should play more. They deserve it.
True, but even for back up match ups, these are great numbers. And they did it with two sets of guards. KPJ, Green, Sengun have defensive weaknesses. Bari maybe is better defensively, but right now he doesn't have much of an offensive contribution. So rather than using these guys completely against second units, it would probably work better if you use them with the starters. The best line-ups so far are using that formula.
Jabari is a part of most of the worst 5 man defensive rating lineups. He’s swimming right now, pressing way too hard. He will get there with time, but can’t expect much from the starting lineup in terms of defense right now
We are getting to that point in Jabari’s rookie season where it could be good for him to have a restart to the season. Sit him for a couple weeks using some of the nagging injuries to list him out, and do a preseason like routine to get his body and mind right for the next season within the season. That really works out well imo for rookies to have that sort of restart to the season. In that stretch let’s ride the Tari/KJ wave a bit and see with a starter level role how good they can be. In a season like this one you are trying to see how good your young talent really is. I think effectively knowing how to ride waves and also knowing when to press the reset button is the best value we can get out of a coach and front office right now. I’ve also see enough to know that playing EG starter minutes right now has no value for this team in the long run. Stone missed his window to get value for the guy in a trade and he adds nothing to the development of the young guys. I would much rather see KJM get his job at the very least.
Net Ratings of Lineups we used last night vs New Orleans... As usual, the KJ & Tari lineups are basically the only times we play winning basketball. As soon as this idiot coach took them out, we lost the 7 point lead, and proceeded to get blown out in the 4th quarter.
As usual, Tari and KJ led the team in +/- against the Warriors last night. +/- STATS FOR THE SEASON... No shocker to me, but our goofy coach won't play our 2 best players more than 25 minutes per game. YAWN
That trio of KJ, Tari, and Sengun have played 64 minutes together this season. They have a net rating of +20.4. They work very well together.
