Not saying any of this is untrue but critics get clicks being far more negative than positive these days.

Also I can probably match every negative critic with a positive critic.

The Women King is a totally different type movie so that just screams hot take.

How about we actually watch it ourselves and then comment on it?

I wish I hadn't started reading reviews. It's making me less interested to see the film.

Good. Black Panther 1 is an action film with dramatic moments. Black Panther 2 is a dramatic film with some action scenes. The drama is solid, the tributes to T'Challah are solid, and the development of the bad guy is almost Thanos level good. That stated, the action moments that make you go "wow" were obviously there, but just don't make you go "wow" anymore. Maybe Marvel is stale to me, but I've enjoyed the most recent Thor and Dr. Strange. And the action scenes were stylish and good. It's good, but I have no desire to rewatch this movie. 6.8/10

I haven’t seen it but I can’t stop chuckling every time I see Namor flying with the little tiny wings on his feet. I know it’s from the comics but seeing them in motion it looks hilarious. Especially with all the ominous music and lighting.

It looks great to me I am surprised they kept them.

The entire idea of being able to fly because of wings on your ankles is extremely ridiculous it makes no sense whatsoever, but sometimes you just got to lean into it.

I'm not saying take them away I just find it really funny seeing these little wings flapping furiously with all of the ominious lighting and music. It's like if Darth Vader had a kitten on his shoulder.

I don't remember in the comics Namor being associated with Meso American mythos but I think it works. It's a pretty cool look and it really separates Namor from the DC Aquaman.

He was not associated with Meso American mythos atlantis at that time was thought to have been in the Mediterranean area, more recently there has been an idea that it was actually somewhere around South America.

    https://bigthink.com/strange-maps/394-athanasius-kirchers-atlantis/

I think I prefer him being more Mediterranean like, but I don't mind this, the only thing is It's not as close to Africa, so why are they beefing?

I know they are going for the PC crowd, but at least this is still rooted in mythology, and it also makes it probably more interesting.

And yeah it does really separate him from Aquaman, I had not thought of that before.

Maybe their beef is so old that they started it when they were closer due to plate tectonics/Pangea? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's 2022 Disney breh. Doesn't this movie mimic the LA City Council meeting?

I'm seeing this movie today...so far a 94% audience score on RT, and I value what the general audience thinks of a movie 100x than some snob critics

these are the same critics that have She-Hulk at 85% on RT while the general audience has it at 33%...I think I know which one is keeping it real

Then where is all this "it's mid...it's meh" type talk coming from? Because that's the narrative that's trying to get spun

it's trending toward "meh" than "overwhelming praise". it's good, but a little messy in the execution. I haven't seen a bad a review, but a lot of these people saying they feel no need to watch it again.

Let us know what you think. I just keep seeing it's more of a drama than anything with some action.

Just an interesting insightful video on Black Panther. It's long though

We should all make our own judgements but from reviews I've been reading, it's not as a good as the first one and the movie was too long.
