Fisher, Damon Jones could join Heat when O'neal head to Heats(Florida Sun-Sentinel)

Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel (Scroll Down): "Another former Laker also could enter the equation, with free-agent point guard Derek Fisher also represented by Bartelstein. 'We've talked,' Bartelstein said. 'We've had conversations.' Also, Bucks free-agent guard Damon Jones told a confidant that he is intrigued about the possibilities of moving to the Heat."

How many PGs do the Heat need (Wade, Fisher, Jones)? Is the Rocket situation made of krytonite for PGs??

Maybe the Rockets shallow pockets are kryptonite for PGs.

    Let them all go there.

There is only one ball and that belongs to Shaq!

After the Heat make the trade, they will not have any cap space left to give these guys a big payday.

Well, Micheal Redd is available next year.

Maybe we can trade for another TE and use it then.

If we had a shooter like that, we could get those heady assist numbers out of a Damon Jones, or even frickin Vasilis Spanoulis, for that matter.

the Heat want to use Wade as a SG, they dont want him handling the ball, they want him to be more of a scorer then anything else. Thats why so many people were puzzled for not getting Jameer Nelson, i bet they regret it now.

Maybe it is but the Rockets didn't offer him anything? Hard to come to a place that hasn't asked for you.
It seems Rocket are not interest in Fisher!!!!!!
This has to mean we're gonna trade for a PG then. That, or Troy Hudson....or god forbid, Charlie Ward.

    Timberwolves: Hudson near a deal
    July 12, 2004 HUDS0712

The Timberwolves and the agent for Troy Hudson have moved toward a deal that would keep the free-agent guard in Minnesota for seasons to come.

Hudson's agent, Bill Neff, said the two sides made progress on a multiyear deal after discussions that started Saturday and went well into Sunday morning. Neff would not give specifics, but it appears the deal could go as long as six years and would be based on giving Hudson the full, $5.1 million mid-level exception -- if he can stay healthy. That could mean a deal, over six years, worth between $37 and $38 million.

Neff said the two sides agreed on language that would take into account any concerns over Hudson's surgically repaired ankle, and that Hudson's pay would change if he doesn't play a predetermined number of games.

If the Wolves are able to close the deal with Hudson, it would clear the way for them to deal with other free agents, including Trenton Hassell and Fred Hoiberg.

Because the Wolves have "early bird" rights on Hudson, they are able to offer him a deal up to the mid-level exception, but would still be able to use that exception on other players. If they were to lose Hudson to another team, they would have to use that money to find his replacement.

Assuming that's true, too bad. However, all reports about Fish came from Fish, IIRC. And DFish and Shaq are historically tight so I (as stated in another post) expect Fisher to follow Shaq to Miami.
