So far, have there been any surprise Republican wins? Races where Democrats were expected to win but Republicans came from behind and outperformed?
Not too surprised because of the CNN exit polls. They downplayed the fact that Abortion wasn't as important as the economy but it was the 2nd biggest issue according to their polls. This wasn't a case 2 years ago, 4 years ago, 6 years ago, etc... This means a lot of people came out to vote because of Abortion, that it has risen in importance that quickly means something. If I'm a GOP strategist I'm pissed that the SCOTUS couldn't try to get this ruling in after November lol it has likely really changed the playing field and what should have been a comfortable red wave is now at the most a red splash. But the GOP can still win most of the close races left and this post could look silly by tomorrow.
I'm going to bed. As of this moment, Democrats are up in enough seats to control the House and Senate. If I wake up and it's changed, I expect mass outrage and chants of voter fraud. If they try to swear in a Republican House Majority I expect a mob to storm the capitol and hunt for Jim Jordan.
I don't know that Democrats will still control the house (or even the Senate). But nothing is decided for sure as of yet.
My post was obviously sarcasm. I still fully expect the Rs to pull out the House in the end, but I'm mocking the ridiculousness of R outrage in 2020. STOP THE COUNT
Vermont enshrines abortion rights. https://vtdigger.org/2022/11/08/mea...ights-in-vermont-constitution-poised-to-pass/
Somehow, I don't think calling people who disagree with you names is as persuasive as you believe it to be.
This is all true. But DeSantis is savy. I could see him as a running mate campaigning for 2028 during the 2024 election, being very careful to keep his distance from Trump. Trump vs DeSantis in a primary is a net negative for both where as a running mate is a net positive for both.
Well I expected the Astros to sweep the Phillies and the Rockets to win 30% of their games so it is a bit of a mixed bag vs expectations.
