I read The Sandman graphic novels way back when. I enjoyed this up until episode 6, and then it falls off the cliff after that. Hated the way The Dollhouse story arc (episodes 7-10) was adapted even though they were faithful for the most part. Just very clunky and the tone was all over the place. I had a hard time getting through it. Episodes 1-6: A- Episodes 7-10: C- overall: B-
I watched a couple of episodes, and I was intrigued, but I have not really been eager to get back to it, does it pick up steam.
This absolutely bored me. I got through the diner episode and just said I'm out. The hell episode "fight" also reminded me of bloodninja. It just needed a robe and wizard hat.
I liked where it was going I just have not got in the mood for the journey. Took me a long time to watch The Watchman series on HBO but once I dived in I loved it, I think this will be the same.
I've watched The Watchmen series on HBO, and if you're expecting The Sandman to be half the quality that show is, much less get close to it, I think you will be sorely disappointed. Good for you if you enjoy that much, but seriously, nowhere near in my opinion.
I didn't like the second half. Not familiar with the source material, but wasn't my cup of tea. Good for the creator being fully vested in it, i guess. Those folks mostly trash these adaptations while silently cashing checks,
Well, that's not going to move it to the top of the list. I mostly want to complete it, so I have an idea of the story.
I watched the whole thing and it does get more interesting as it goes on, but it's never a barn burner. It kinda just makes you think at times, and you go, hmmmm, that was semi-interesting. Then, you move on and forget about it. Watchmen HBO series in the other hand, started a bit slow but became not only cool but a concept derived but different from the original material that I really enjoyed and could rewatch.
I don't know what to do. Watch. Or not Watch. Or Watchmen. Or Watchwomen. It's a very confusing thread. I am going back to miss universe thread as that seems clearer.
Yeah, Watchmen did pick up momentum, and you had some actors who sold you on whatever they were doing.
