Welp.. couldn’t wiggle out of work. Sigh daughter and wifey going with her sis and fam making the trip to the glorious parade.. they plan on heading there @ 8:00 am to secure a great spot. I’ll be there in spirit lol
Yes and he should. He wasnt as terrible as many b****ed about. He was average here against the rest of a staff that looked like Cy Young at times.
Aren't you 4 hours early? Have fun. I may go to the office taking the back roads and check it out from the windows.
dude, do you know how many people will be there? it's going to be packed and i hope no incident like the one in s.korea.
MLBN better cover it, the have every other year. Got the DVR set so we’ll see, you guys enjoy. Doesn’t happen often
I wonder if they'll have their own broadcast or just take one of the local feeds? Its amazing that almost 30 years after the Rockets won a championship, and local news coverage for these is exactly the same... and just as cringe-worthy.
I am just still giggling inside when Thomson replaced Wheeler with a lefty out of the pen. It's like... did you not watch the Mariners throw lefty Ray out there to Alvarex? LOL
Keep in mind, the Phillies were a terrible match up for Lance. The Phillies struggle against fast balls up in the zone, but feast on breaking balls down in the zone. Lance isn’t a north south fast ball pitcher. He heavily relies on his breaking balls/slider combo down in the zone. Once Javier threw the no hitter, the formula of how to pitch the Phillies and cool them off was laid out. Go after them with fast balls and have them swinging and missing off of off-speed stuff and sliders.
I mean that strategy was known going into the series. I don't see why Javier's start make it obvious. If anything I kind of blame LMJ for not adjusting to his opponent.
He has a sinker in his pitching arsenal that is very good that has pretty much replaced his four seamer in his pitch selection that he used to throw frequently 2017 and earlier. He did not throw the sinker nearly as much as sliders and curveballs in the playoffs though and teams were teeing off on his breaking balls Yanks and Phils sat on those pitches. Seattle struggled with McCullers though so maybe they were a good matchup for him. Watching Lance back in 2017 I thought we had a contender for future Cy Youngs if he stayed healthy. His velocity back then was deadly on the fastballs, sliders, and curveballs. He is still a good pitcher just does not have the same potential as he did before the injury in my opinion.
