There will be a day Maldonado retires... He's obviously going to be in the coaching staff right? Astros have to immediately give him an offer right? Like I think that should be a no brainier. He has to stay long term for this organization.
The off-season after winning the 2017 WS Luhnow traded for Gerrit Cole and signed Michael Brantley. Then at the 2018 trade deadline had a trade in place to rent Bryce Harper. I hope to see this level of aggression this off-season.
We are in a weird situation with Dusty and Maldy. Maldy in my opinion if not Joe Espada, deserve to be the next coach of this team. Maldy's baseball mind and leadership are not common. He is a huge reason they won it all this year. It can be frustrating to watch offensively, but guess who sparked that inning last night. Yes sir.
Feels like Jose Abreu would be the big target this offseason. We should know pretty quick on what the Astros are interested in doing as there FA started today with their own players. Just saw Edwin Diaz got a hundred million as a reliever. Pretty insane.
I was thinking if the parade was later in the week might try to come down for it but not going to make it for tomorrow. I made it there for the 2017 parade and that was great. A really great moment for the city coming out of hurricane Harvey.
I just can't get myself to go out there in the heat and take time off at least at this point in my life. I'll be there in spirit. Just stopped by Academy to get some World Series merch - any online recommendations? Will the Astros team shop still be selling the Space Jerseys?
Jason Castro. The OG catcher from the rebuild days is a CHAMP. Don't forget his huge RBI to help the Astros beat the Red Sox in last playoffs ALCS.
Not just at the trade deadline. Apparently in an interview last year or year before, Harper said Astros offered him a 1 year big money deal. But he had no interest in a short term deal.
I’m excited to see what we do in the off-season. Some interesting holes to fill and the acquisition of some impact bats would be awesome.
If anyone cares, on that last out we had the shift on. That will be the last shift in the history of baseball (unless they change rules)
