With Shaq goning to the East Yao will be the All-Star Starter for a long long time!

With Shaq gone and McGrady in, the Rockets will have 2/5 of the Western Conference all stars on the Roster. Yao who already had beaten Shaq for the starting nod, will now have NO competition.

And McGrady is even more talented than Kobe, from what I've read; physical ability wise.

    Next years All-star team is:

    Yao
    Duncan
    Garnett
    McGrady
    Bryant

Now let's get the finishing pieces for the Rockets.

Yao was starting anyway, even with Shaq over here, but that starting five you have up there is SCARY!!!

And w/ Marbury, Iverson, Carter, Kidd, Lebron, Artest, Baron, Pierce, even Wade.....Francis will likely never start again.

Shaq is just jealous that he didn't get to start in the All-Star game. So what did he do?? Yea....move to the East so he can get his own spot ;)

And also he is afraid that Yao is going to take over his reign any time soon so he moves to the East to avoid playing with Yao 4 times a year.

He's just a BIG EGO person and that's why he'll never get along with Kobe.

Yao was starting anyway. The only thing this means is that Yao might be the highest overall vote-getter due to lack of competition.

It isn't a done deal yet. Kobe has the last word.

With Francis being either Option #1 or Option #2 on a sorry team, I somehow doubt this. Artest? Whatever. Baron's in the West now. Pierce more votes than Francis? Hmm... doubtful. Depends on if they let Steve run around like a maniac hoisting shots or not. It's not as clear-cut as I think you think it is.

also, Carter and Artest are Small Forwards not Guards on the All Star Ballets.

Fair enough points.....but I do still feel Marbury will get more fan votes simply from the fact he is playing in NY and Francis is now in a small city market. Iverson, Kidd, and Lebron are all no doubt more popular than Francis. And prior to last season's losing struggles, even Pierce I believe was a more popular player than Francis. In fact Orlando being able to play above .500 basketball this year may determine how Francis' popularity will fare. Oh well, I guess Carter/Artest aren't relevant since they're strictly classified as 3's on the ballot - even though they do also play the 2 quite often. I will also take Baron of the list I provided and add Billups to it :p

Francis is going to be THE man in ORL. I expect his points to go by 10. He is now the cornerstone of that franchise. He'll be more popular than ever.

But, I do agree, that if Kidd heals well from his surgery, it'll be hard to get past Kidd and James. But, Stevie does make the highlight reels anad is popular with the fans. He started ahead of better guards in the West, such as Bibby, Nash and Cassell. Of course, he won't be getting the extra lift from Yao fans now ... :)

Steve's points to go up by 10. I doubt it. 20-21 ppg is doable but 26, that's stretching things a bit far.

last year marbury and pierce got 384,000 and 332,000 votes respectively. francis got 976,000.

in the east, only iverson (1,731,000), tmac (1,231,000) and kidd (1,126,000) beat him and obviously tmac is coming west.

so he's still behind two guards, but not by much, but i expect lebron to get a nice jump this year. so it's unlikely he'll start but not that unlikely.

Marbury will have a full period of Knicks fan votes this season and Francis will likely lose at least some portion of the Asian vote.

I don't think that it's much of a stretch to imagine McGrady getting a LOT of Francis' votes this year. Let's be honest - many people that voted for Yao voted for Steve as well.

Why is Francis even relevant to this thread?

Oh, that's right, you brought him up to bash him -- even though he's been gone for about a month.

But anyway, Francis managed to get voted in 3 times a stacked West playing for one of the lowest-attendance teams in basketball -- so there's good chance that your fondest hopes and dreams will be dashed. Sucks for you I guess.
