that's not his security guard. He works for BR betting. his assignment that day was to follow MM (interview content) and go to the game with him that day

Will Harris made a good pitch, and Kendrick put a great swing on it. I don't think that was a familiarity issue as much as a major league hitter having a good at bat.

The exposure effect is real, but not huge. In high leverage situations you go with your best guys if they are available. You could make the case Montero and Pressly have pitched in some lower leverage situations, but with all the off days they needed work too. Dusty (or the staff's) mistakes have been about not pulling starters sooner more than which relievers he's used when he's gone to relievers.

I disagree wholeheartedly, I love the way he breaks down our pitchers.

But I guess everybody has to have a hot take.

I get worried as well that they are seeing our high leverage guys a lot...so a simple solution. Blow them out in game 6 and not need any of them to finish off this WS.

Agree with you. His pitching and mentality break down is the only reason to put up with his bias.

i wish one of the reporters would ask Dusty why he didn't replace Chas for Dubon for defense like he has almost every other game. Im glad he didn't, but want to know why

I wouldn't complain about a bullpen decision at this point because I'm not a moron. How about you tell me how many times Abreu has pitched a third inning vs how good Montero has been all year. Or maybe just look how good every bullpen decision made in this entire playoffs. I'm far from a Dusty apologist but questioning the bullpen moves with how good they have all turned out seems so idiotic I can't believe anyone would legitimately make them.

According to Smoltz, a pitcher giving up a walk with a decent lead (3-4 runs) is much worse than a homer. If a pitcher gave up a homer every time they had a decent lead instead of a walk, there would be a lot more comebacks.

John Smoltz's job is to break down every pitch.

I'm neutral about his takes but not going to fault him for doing what he's paid to do.

According to Baseball Savant ( and my eyes) Meyers is very slightly better than Chas at initial reaction and range.

He catches that ball unless he has a mental episode approaching the fence. And that is a real possibility.

Dubon would have had no shot.

Pena with multiple go ahead RBIs in a single World Series game.

2nd rookie ever to do it.

I stand by the idea that I don't want to see Montero again in the 8th, because you know, I was saying that at 11:30pm last night. Maybe apprise yourself of the discussion before jumping in.

That's easy to figure out. We are not home so we would have to bat again in case they tied it. Yordan was due up 2nd if that scenario did play out.
