I've seen his employees 1st hand at Space X, he's far from a con man. He pays his people well, but the job comes 1st.
You see that! Its just ball man. Its a game we've probably all loved and played at some point in time. In its basic essence its just having fun and making things happen especially as a QB. Just let it rip Mills! Throw it to where they are supposed to be - stop looking them open. 2nd half was not ideal, but everyone was expecting a bloodbath and these guys battled. Im probably still not hitching my wagon to Mills as a long term solution, but hopefully he is able to carve out a niche for himself in the NFL.
I'm not going to lie, I missed most of the game because I was flipping back and forth and I wanted to concentrate on the Astros game last night. So, I just so happened to look back in the thread this morning to see what happened and it was funny how proponents of Mills were saying how good he was looking, he was athletic, etc. AND less than two or three post later, they are cursing him! Lol Guys, when are we going to learn, if it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck....IT'S A DUCK! He is who he is. I did see one series where he threw an interception after they tied it at 14 and I immediately turned it off. I knew what the eventual outcome would be. We have to come to grips that we need to draft a QB with the 1st pick. This franchise is a LAUGHINGSTOCK. They were giving away tickets on yesterday....GIVING TICKETS AWAY TO A NATIONALLY TELEVISED GAME. Mills is a backup and it's nothing wrong with that. I think there is definitely a need for a quality backup.
You should want Mills to be the QB next year if he's as bad as you think. Higher draft picks in 2024. BTW, who was Mills throwing to last night? This team has far worse problems than the QB position. Starting with the DL, Center and WR/TE positions. But hey, this is all on Mills.
A GOOD QB can makeup for a lot of mistakes, problems, etc. and since everybody likes Pierce so much, how much time does a hard running RB has, 4, 5, 6yrs at best. His clock is ticking. With the money they will have in FA, I think if they can pickup at least two quality players to fill gaps in the DL and a quality LB, their defense is not bad. Plus with two high #1 draft picks, they are assured to get two starters, even if they trade down, similar to last yr and pickup additional picks. If they don't get one of the Top 3 QBs in this draft, I'm hoping they pickup one at the top of rnd 2 and despite what some might think, I think is this going to be a solid draft for QBs. There maybe at least 4 or 5 starters.
He looked really good in the first half. Showed his legs and arm, made some damn good plays and moved out of some trouble really nice…………..but that was all first half. Second half the Mills of this season showed up. Terrible decision making and off sync with receivers on option routes. The broadcast interviewed him and he said he was going to start using his legs. It was definitely evident, and no one that watched his runs and boot legs can say he’s a statue. He should have been doing this more.
Was watching Astros on TV, Texans on phone. Eagles made adjustments at the half. Texans did not. Coaching has as much to do with this loss as the players on the field. So sad that Pierce will be declining by the time this team is viable.
Ehhh, I hear you, and he's well-compensated, but how many of us basically have to keep a job at a terrible organization, with no option to go seek a similar job at a better company? It would be tough to watch one's own life wasting away with an org like the Texans.
Guys All I'm saying and have been saying since the start of the season is you can not sit back and wait for Williams in 2024 or any other QB. He's no sure thing either. I thought Trevor Lawrence was the best QB prospect in decades and so did many Draft Analysts; big, strong, athletic, strong arm, played against top competition, won a National Championship, everything! His grades coming out of college will be higher than William's and he hasn't done a thing in the NFL. YOU DRAFT A QB AND ROLL WITH IT. THE DRAFT IS A GAMBLE....NOBODY KNOWS
No problem with that take. And now that I look up his contract -- signed in 2022 with $16M signing bonus -- I totally agree with you now. Damn, he was looking at the whole reality square in the face when he signed. I mean, nothing has been shocking about this season. LOL.
Right. You were cool with everything to take that money just a couple months ago, but when your boy Easterby gets fired you’re now mad? Some people
Here is the issue. This team is so far away from contending. They have absolutely zero young talent in the front 7. Personally, I would rather they load the f up on front 7 players in the draft if they can't get Bryce Young.
