I had to listen on the radio for a minute and Sparks thought that hit by Bregman got over the fence and couldn't believe they didn't review it. Did they show a replay? Was it clearly off the top of the wall?

 

Yeah this is a tough spot to be in but hopefully he’s settling in.

It’s obvious he’s pitching around Harper so that’s scary because he is smart enough to just take the walk.

No way. Max 1 inning and it's against the heart of the Phillies order. Any base runners, he should be pulled.

 

My goal heading into tonight was just 5 innings with 1 earned run from JV. If he can get through the 5th, he accomplishes that, and he'll have done it going through the heart of the lineup twice. Even got a shot to go 6 if he keeps his pitch count down.

No go score runs...

 

I think he does. Verlander has earned it. It could blow up in our faces, but how do you yank the Cy Young winner after only the 4th inning when he's given up a single run and just got all 3 batters out?

 

They said he was 6'3 earlier lol. I guess 6'1.5

 

So the ball by Bregman had to have cleared the fence to be a HR?

nah it hit the bottom of the fence where the flower bed is. So top of padded wall but not over the main higher wall.

Good inning for Verlander. He’s thru 4 with 1 run. Short leash time. If he allows a run or multiple base runners they need to go to the pen. Neris-Abreu-Montero-Pressly can get them thru innings 5-9.
