JV got ripped again. Issue is the ball wasn’t lifted.

can thank Justin Verlander for that. He is the Phillies MVP this series.

Literally the worst start possible for Verlander. I genuinely am baffled at how he crumbles in the World Series.

Huge AB there. Alvarez swings at a ball out of the zone.. 2 on.. nobody out.

Abreu + Stanek 3 IP together combined
    Brown 2+ innings
That gets you into the 7th

    Neris close out the 7th
    Montero 8th
    Pressly 9th

I wouldn't put JV out there at the start of the 2nd inning.

Shake his hand, thank him for the regular season.

I can't believe I just had to write that.

man, has anyone gone from hero to zero the way yordan has these playoffs, i'm not a believer in momentum really but swinging at garbage for ball 4 to destroy that inning was soul crushing

The damage is 2 runs. If JV gives up 2 more runs, or there are 2 men on with less than 1 out, replace him.

I'm really hoping against hope that this will be the opposite of game 1 where he started hot and fell apart. Maybe where he starts slow and finishes strong. I don't know.
