I think Robert Horry would really help our team with the intangibles, leadership, and provide some help at the forward positions. He's certainly better than Spoon. There is a reason most Spurs players and fans want him to come back even though he had a disappointing year there statwise last season. It's because he does the little things that help a team. And that is exactly what we need.

I don't see him going back to the Lakers and I think its 50-50 he resigns with the Spurs. He lives in Houston and I think we could get him cheap if we go for him.

I see this team going very far and I think Horry would be great to have. A player from our glory days coming back to help as we enter a new glorious era.

    Rockets, sign Horry.

    No.
How many PFs we have? Unless you can get rid of at lease 2 of them.

Um, we only have two so called PF's.

Spoon I don't consider to be even a decent backup.

Taylor, remains to be seen if he can be the answer as a starter.

    We need a PF.

Why not, as a backup SF/PF...for the minimum, sounds ok to me...

Not sure how much extra leadership you'll need from veterans. We already have a few veterans: Juwan Howard, Clarence Weatherspoon, and Eric Piatowski. He might make a solid bench player, but I think his best days are behind him.

I would love nothing more than to see the rockets pick up Horry for the vet. minimum. We have some good veterans on our team but none of them have 5 championship rings and 100+ playoff games under their belt. He still plays very good defense and can spread the floor. Also he is one of the best at feeding the post.

I'd be up for picking up Horry for the minimum a la Scott Padgett. Horry doesn't address any of our real needs though.

If they can get Griffin for the min. then they need to do it. Horry has been awlful for some time and Griffin is still only what 22? 23? We wasted 3 first rounders for him, and he still was one of our best rebounders when he played for the Rockets. He may have needed to bulk up, but he seemed to be involved with tipping every loose ball on the court. Yes, he is a head case, but for the right amount money, he's worth the gamble.

I bet Rudy will be trying to get him! Especially if its for cheap!

Horry has been a 0 factor for the last 2 years.

Spoon's 3rd string, Taylor's a backup. How you completely gloss over a career 17 ppg scorer is bit mind boggling, but Juwan Howard is just fine as a PF.

I don't see any purpose to Horry, other than as a link to the glory days, really. His backup limits his mobility- he no longer can play minutes at the 3. At this point of his career, I don't see him any more useful than Weatherspoon, and we don't have a particularly young team that we have a huge need for an "experienced veteran".

Won't happen. Robert Horry never played for the Knicks.

For the min he'd give us some size at the 3 which he mostly played while he was in Houston and could give us good matchups against taller SF's, but his J seems streakier now and he was atrocious in his last playoff series for the Fakers the year before last from behind the arc. Didn't he keep Malik Rose on the bench this past season? I've always like his stalking defense where he'd follow the penetrating offensive player to the hole and swat a lot of shots. He'd give us a nice big presense down low along with Yao and Howard when teams tried to crash the boards or post up down low

Van Gundy generally likes players who play 82 games on both sides of the ball. Thankfully, Horry ain't gonna happen while Van Gundy is here.

Kind of off the subject here....but isn't Horry married to Calvin Murphy's daughter??

No...I think he might have a daughter with her tho. Bad things went on in the past between Horry and Calvin. Don't remember the exact details. I think that might have one of the reasons he was off Rudy's team so easily with no regrets.
