Actually, I think I read that there is something like a 2-hour time limit for discussion to decide to throw it back into Congress. Obviously that got waylaid by events.

That is not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that a REAL Fascist WOULD HAVE made a bigger mess and maybe even approached success. It may have nothing to do with the ideology but everything to do with the commitment.

You just like to use the ugly word against Trump

And I'm saying a real fascist being a fascist has nothing to do with competence.

Fascism succeeding in America is going to take a lot more steps than it took for a place like Weimar Germany. Weimar Germany was a new democratic republic. It's institutions didn't have much of a "deep state" as you right wingers call it where a simple charismatic ideologue can just convince a couple of generals on his side and overthrow the government.

Trump simply didn't have the means. To many people in multiple century long institutions that are just going to say "**** off" for a fascist in America to successfully overthrow the government.

Yes Trump and his supporters are absolutely knee deep in fascist ideology.

... and I don't challenge that. Being a real Fascist has to do with a depth of commitment which Trump obviously did/does not have. He's not a revolutionary; he's an opportunist.

Correct. There were enough folks that stood for Democracy even though many didn't.

If we don't hold people accountable, then the attempted coup was just a practice one where they can make the changes needed for success next time. There are hundreds of candidates already who don't believe in the election and have vowed to only accept elections where they win.
