You cant fire those who are responsible, so you fire a different guy who wasn't.
    Totally logical.

I was hoping they kept Nash for the next two years because he cannot coach and we would have better draft picks, but if they get the former coach from Boston they are going to start winning….darn

We've checked all the boxes while shorting them so far. Next will be either Durant getting hurt, and/or Kyrie getting dealt or suspended.

This is hardly during the season, season is still young and anything could still happen, the Rockets could even eye a better seeding if they made the trade and sack Silas, just very unlikely.

Only example off the top of my head are the Heat when Pat took over in 2006 and they won the 'chip.

What's happening now IS the nets falling apart so this is as good as it gets.

They will never blow up to rebuild because they don't own their own picks so if you are waiting for that then you are fooling yourself

A question though, we only own their pick swap for this year right so their suckitude doesn't help us at all this year?
(bc we will still have a worse record no doubt)

There is more to that discussion than just those two things.

Are you talking about his soul, other planes of existence, or a multiverse? Genetics is basically everything physically within him given to him from birth and environment is basically everything else outside of him that has affected him.

If the Nets are terrible a swap essentially doubles our chances at Wembanyama. The team with the worse record doesn't always get the higher pick. For instance, we had a slightly worse record than the Magic last season but they ended up winning the lottery and we dropped to 3rd. If both we and the Nets are terrible we might only jump up a few spots, but in a draft with Wembanyama that could be huge.

It would be ideal for us to be 1st seed in West and jump up 25 draft spots or something, but there is still a potential benefit to the pick swap as long as the Nets miss the playoffs.

So 3 teams out of 70+ years is a strong example?

pretty sure it may be more, but not by much

the Nets are a melting pot right now, and KD is still not satisfied because he wanted the owner making the statement saying 'both Marks/Nash has been let go' but he didn't get to have his ice cream also, just got his cake (Nash fired)

plus the NBA as of right now doesn't want the Nets to do well because of the public outcry of what Kyrie has caused, which is bad for business but at the same time keeps publicity on the league because as they say any publicity is good promo
