Goal post moving? LOL thats funny! Is it not the sentiment on this board that Sengun is the best player on this team? Why doesnt he play like it? Why doesnt he put the team on his shoulders and will us to victory? Thats the point with all that hype and hyperbole? Who do we blame when he has an average game since he's a transcendent superstar in the making? Who did he "unlock" last night? Seems when Sengun plays "good" everyone around him plays worse! Funny that all of the "excuses" for KPJ not looking great are now shifted to poor little Sengun when nobody can make a shot for him. Let him do that same back down hook move over and over - is that the answer? Post him up 45 times a game and it will lead to dubs!

Capture the moment(s) without bias and there is plenty to discuss. Lazy finger pointing at a few issues on the team as if that would cure the all is more of the same.

Fans "hate" on those who they didnt ride with during the draft process or support thier acquisition IMO. Dudes wanting their picks to be right so damn bad they are willing to trash their own players just to be able to say "I told you so". Our new Euro buddies are the epitome of Only Fans as they propose trading Sengun so that he would somehow be better utilized elsewhere and show no loyalty to this team and its history.

IMO JG’s deal is that he’s being subjected to the same thing that everyone had to put up with him last year .

both garuba and tari are more ready than smith . But smith is getting 30 mpg while those 2 fight for scraps because he was a top 3 pick and they weren’t .

just like last year alp and jc were more ready than green yet green got the silver spoon

Oh and the team sucks ass and his level hasn’t been great either .

I think there is a clear level difference between the game sengun plays versus others in the team. He is our most solid player by far. You can tell so vividly that he is putting 110% every game in order to be make an impact and in order to improve on his deficiencies. His turnovers are down vs the first game, his free throw shooting is much better. His defense in my opinion is very solid in the last 2-3 games.

The problem with team is KPJ being the pg. KPJ knows hoe to play with Bruno because that's the easiest play in the game. A pg should be more creative than just throwing the ball in the air so that the center can dunk. Also, I would buy in to the idea of KPJ being the center of offense if KPJ was a Ja Morant or had potential to be like Ja but he isn't.

Despite all that, we would win the last 2 games if JG and Jabari were able to score at a better rate - they were both around 20-30% FGP.

    Quite reasonable analysis.

KPJ could thrive in a harden-like offense, if he has the scoring skills of harden. He needs to score enough points to compensate his weaknesses and get us the dub as the primary option numero 1.

    21, 18, 18, 26, 24, 16, 26, 13. inconsistent as fk.

Fully agree! I don't understand why the media does not comment on how solid sengun is playing. It's all usman and kpg who ends up being "no player does more" almost every game and yet we lose the games. Rockets fans / media, should support Sengun at least as much as they support KPJ if not more. I really hope they don't frusturate sengun to a point, in which he just gives up.

This sh*tshow has nothing to do with Alpi, Green, KPJ, Jabari problem. They all still have the great potential they had coming into the season. I’m not down on any of them. It all comes down to whether our coaching is helping these guys to meet their potential. Talking about the players deficiencies and their potential is what fans do and what this forum is about. You are passive aggressive against Sengun, while blasting others as Fan Onlys. The real problem is the lack of structure on both sides of the ball and the inability of the coaching staff to put these players in a position to succeed. Any improvement to this young group has been on an individual basis not a team basis. It’s not about winning a lot of games this year, but about teaching these guys how to play the NBA game. Silas is the main problem. I don’t even think as this point, it should even be debatable.

Think of the issues people had with each of the players and how they have progressed:

KPJ - Free throw % (improved), Dribbling too much (no change), Passing (slightly better, but poor shooting has hurt his assist), Turnover (still not good)
Jalen Green - Strength to finish (improved), shooting consistency (regressed), rebounding, defense, passing (better)
Garuba - Conditioning (better), defense (improved), Shooting (incomplete)
Sengun - free throw shooting (improved), defense (improved), strength (improved), passing (regressed)

Tari and Jabari have the full year and the next off-season to work on their weaknesses.

Silas - Offensive structure (same), Defense (same), rotations (even worse), winning environment (regressed).

You are entitled to your opinions and reactions. I felt quite strongly about some of the strategic and systemic issues I noticed early - that with a little modification could lead to more competitive games and even some WINS.

When the team keeps doing the same things across the board then there is an edict in place. Coming to terms with this team not wanting to win and giving themselves another top 3 player in the draft sucks because of the path and impatience of the fans. It is what it is. All your points are valid, but are basically lost in the void. We need to strap in for another bad year and cope the best way we can. Throwing each other or the players under the bus aint it. Silas is a placeholder.

Other than it being a shitty ending, the Rockets somehow went on a 10-0 run in the 4th to retake the lead with Nix, Matthews, KMJ, Eason, Garuba lineup.

    That's just weird.

If Silas is still the head coach after the draft then Rafael Stone needs to also be fired.

Eason and Garuba are one a combo i enjoy watching. they really take defense seriously. If Garuba has an offense game, a line up of Eason, Smith and Garuba would b fun to watch.

Good post. I hope Silas is a placeholder, preferably one that will lose his place right after the season at worst.
