It’s just crazy because we’re tanking (for a center no less) and folks are bickering over who’s the top player on the team. These guys are so young & inexperienced , that you don’t know who’s what yet.
Green is going.to be a career 17 ppg scorer. He just can't get looks. That's what happens when you aren't a good ball handler.
Am i the only one that feels Green is taking a **** tone of shots & making 1/5 of them & literally doing nothing else? Barely & boards or dimes & only points & shitty ass %age too. I know he's still young & learning but that seems to be his stats for a long time, unlike some other promising young stars.
No one else is even close. At some point, when all the newness, "potential", and flash of these other players eventually fade, and winning takes priority again, the offense will be built around Sengun. He's the only one on the team that can make his teammates better, that's the one you build around.
And i am aware that he can't defend pnr perfectly but his one on one defence is not bad as advertised. Usually he gets up with two offence players in paint beacuse our guards are not that good at perimeter defence.
First they said it was fouls, he averages only 3 fouls a game now. Then they said he turns the ball over, he averages 1.2 TO a game after the first game of the season. What excuses will they come up with next? Defense? He's the best drop defender on the team, and the best shot blocker. These idiots expose themselves after every game, Silas especially. And Sengun just gets better after every game.
if sengun is mad at silas.. gawd damn. if you lost sengun its over. We were angrier at Silas for benching sengun than even sengun the first time.
Best player or not, what he is doing as a 20 year-old is unreal. It is a shame that we won’t fully invest in his ability the same way we have KPJ’s. What’s crazy to me is that Sengun is the perfect player to hide KPJ’s/JG’s dribbling. They are literally a perfect match If we played in the correct system. Our guards can and should lead the team in shots, but off the ball shots should be the majority of the diet.
Spoiler "The Rockets opened the game and the second half running a good deal of offense through Alperen Sengun, leading to better movement off the ball, especially as he looked to move it with dribble handoffs. That also opened opportunities for him to look to drive with the defense not set and waiting, as is often the case when the Rockets get stagnant. In the second half, it let him move to the low post, where he has been the most efficient scorer in the NBA this season. It brought the Rockets a more cohesive offense. After Sengun got going early in the half, the Rockets ran an elbow action to him and Green got loose on a backdoor cut, breaking free for a slam. After an offensive rebound of a Kevin Porter Jr. missed 3, he fed Porter in the corner for another 3."
Exactly. Playing through Sengun, building around Sengun, doesn't mean Sengun in the low post every trip down. I don't know why people like @DaDakota and @Reeko keep spreading disinformation like that. Playing through Sengun means having him touch the ball and be the primary decision maker, because he has the best feel for the game on the team since we don't have a point guard. Then he decides to either attack or create looks for kpj and Jalen, either for an open look or opening to attack while the defense has been manipulated. This is infinitely better system than watching kpj or jalen dribble dribble for 20 seconds and jacking bad shots.
That’s ok if you wanna ride on Silas, that’s your choice. Stop hating on someone just because of his skin color.
It's fine liking sengun, but idk y folks have to put down green of all people. They are mates drafted from the same class, we should hope they both shine and they do well. I think sengun can fully unlock Green's potential with his playmaking abilities but for some weird a$$ reason silas wants kpj to run the offense
FACTS. Haters wanted to cut him off during preseason… unbelievable how this fanbase is. now enjoying the circus with Silas.
All you need to do is look at Denver and how Jokic plays. He is not jacking up 20 shots every night but the offense runs through him and there's not a lot of possessions where he isn't touching the ball. And look how fluent the rest of the team play. It's no coincidence when the ball is in Sengun's hands the offense is much more watchable than when it's in the hands of the backcourt players, because the whole court is being surveyed and every player on the court could be a potential threat.
they can’t get over that he is simply the best…if Al-P was a person of color, none of these excuses would be pronounced.
I don't think the coaching staff is clueless like everyone thinks. It's pretty obvious they're trying to tank as this is the last season before they owe OKC picks. These guys are paid millions and have a whole team/organization backing them. You guys don't think they know what works and doesn't work?
