I really like his energy, would be a great spark off the bench. We'd probably go into more of a running mode with him on the floor. I just don't know that much about his game. Great idea though!!!

    He's from Texas too.

    But he's okay at shotblocking.

    That's it.

No range, no boards, no man-to-man defense.

    Just shotblocking. Oh, and dunking.

The sad thing? When all's said and done, he may be the best player available.

I'd be fine with that decision. I believe that's the type of player CD's looking for. Good hustle and cheap!

The guy is a joke, I don't want anyone in a Rockets uni who has a perm. :)

But seriously, there is a reason why the guy didn't get to play that much for Denver. He provides some energy off the bench, but thats about it. Can't shoot, can't rebound, ok defender. No Thanks.

1.6 blocks in 14 minutes? That's way WAY WAY more than "ok".

I would love to give this guy a chance. He's a hard worker, decent rebounder.

If he comes cheap, let's go for it.

Defense isn't just about blocks. Being a PF/C, he must be able to defend the post players and quicker PFs.

Did it say anywhere in my post that he's a good defender?

Anyways, we should take a good look at David West of the Hornets. Just finished his rookie year, and I remember being impressed with a game of his in the playoffs. He seemed to have a good nose for the ball. Not great, but could be that tough guy we've been looking for if he gets stronger, tougher and meaner.

Anyone else seen him? He may be a great fit alongside Yao. Doesn't have the size to block many shot though.

Chris Anderson may be white, but he's a freakin' athletic jumping jack out on the court.

I guess anything is an improvement since we don't have a backup center.

I haven't seen the guy play much, but he's 14th in the league in rebounds per 48 minutes at 13.9. He may only play 14 min/game, but he's not a horrible rebounder.

Maybe I misread it, but WAY WAY more than "ok" seems like thats what you were implying.

So you're assuming that you are the only one here who knows that shotblocking does not necessarily mean good defense?

His shotblocking is incredible, second only to Ratliff per minute. That is what I said, and I didn't imply otherwise.

This guy has hops! I've watched him before during warmups and he has an insane vertical leap.

if howard and mo split minutes @ PF, and yao gets about 36mpg next year, then he would average the same #'s for us. i wouldn't be upset about it.

don't forget who our coach is. no player is a bad defender under JVG. anderson is quick enough to guard the quick 4's, and block shots well enough to guard the bigger guys.

Anderson has all the tools to be a scary defensive beast under JVG.
